We recently went to D'Angelo's Italian Restaurant for Sam's birthday. This place does not disappoint! It's worth the drive no matter where you're coming from and it's easy to find. The service and food were on point. Our server Christy was great. She didn't leave out a thing from our order. Her tables were having fun and we didn't hear one complaint about anything. She's fun and pleasant and as busy as they were it didn't rattle her a bit! She brought our food out hot and perfect. It's a wonderful place, nice and cozy tucked in Bullhead City near the river. It's moderately priced and the portions will fill your hungriest guests. Definitely go there hungry and you may need to be prepared to take home a "people/doggie bag". The menu has everything from appetizers to seafood, chicken and pastas, specialty pizzas, house specialties like lasagna, ziti, ravioli, meatballs, they also serve hamburgers, hot and cold sandwiches and many more items. There's a great salad selection on the menu, and soup if you like. And don't forget dessert. They have 1/2 or smaller portions of food on the menu as well. (I know I'm leaving menu items out but I don't have room here to list everything.) YOU WILL FIND SOMETHING...OR A FEW THINGS ON THIS MENU YOU'LL LIKE. REALLY. The pizzas that were delivered to the next table were as big as beach balls! They smelled and looked so good it riled our anticipation for our meals to arrive which didn't take long. We loved our food. I had the Butcher's Calzone and it was so delicious! It had generous portions of Italian sausage, Canadian bacon, pepperoni and ooey gooey mozzarella cheese all wrapped up in a crust so good I could have that for a meal alone. YUM! I asked them to add a few onions in the Calzone and that was so tasty. (They were happy to add the onions and had no problems doing so.) The side of marinara sauce had a touch of natural sweetness from the tomatoes and perfectly complimented the calzone. Sam had the full order of Manicotti Parmigano (one of the many House Specialties) , which arrived hot on a platter with 2 big manicotti tubes filled with ricotta cheese and covered in marinara sauce, served with 2 delicious meatballs and topped with mozzerella. He REALLY enjoyed it. It came with garlic bread and salad bar. The salad bar has plenty of goodies to choose from and they never let any of the tubs on the salad bar go empty. You should save room for dessert, the cheesecake is an awesome finisher for the meal. The cocktail/wine menu had something on there for everybody plus they have a full bar. If you haven't been to D'Angelo's you really are missing out on what I think is the best Italian restaurant in town. If you have out of town guests or someone asks you where to eat this place is a perfect place for dinner. I heard lunchtime is a big hit too. OH, did I mention the 2 big TV'S in the D.R. and one in the bar? Their food and football made for a pretty good birthday for Sam and already looking forward to going back when it's cooler to dine on the patio! I HAVE ONLY REGRET... I'm kicking myself for not taking photos of the restaurant AND...
Read moreA real disappointment after generally positive reviews. I use reviews a lot and only occasionally do a review. Mostly when I am either extremely impressed or really disappointed. Rarely on one experience, but given my use I feel I ought to here.
We ordered calamari and pizza to go while staying in Laughlin.
It was the worst, and worst value, calamari ever. Small portion of what I assumed were pre-processed calamari cooked poorly. Not at all light or crisp. The sole grace was that after trying 2 small pieces the small portion seemed less a waste when we binned the rest.
The pizza was not horrible, but was not good either. It was about as far from authentic as I can imagine - nothing notable and not very well put together. If the crust was made onsite, then they really ought to start buying. If, as I suspect, it was bought the restaurant should change suppliers. We would have been far better ordering from a chain...any chain.
I agree with the prior reviewer who's review said (although this is a paraphrase) you won't die if you order here. But there are cheaper options for barely edible food and better options if you want food that is more than a response to hunger.
I cannot say don't eat here, only I...
Read moreI have enjoyed D'Angelos Italian sandwiches for the past two years since I moved. Absolutely the best. But the last two times that I have ordered, they were rubbery and the lettuce was warmed with sandwich in oven? So finally I called and asked for mgr. just to explain what had happened again and make them aware of this because maybe they weren't aware? Maybe someone new or new cook or?I explained the sandwich was not toasted, and that the lettuce was warmed with bun in toaster and it was spongy! Complete opposite of what they used to be. Well she insisted that it wasn't like that and over and over again said she watched it be done the right way. I explained that I wouldn't of called ever but I just wanted the sandwich I used to get! Well I got no where with her and I'm very disappointed that she had that reaction. Because the sandwich was far far from being like it used to be and I guess she didn't care? She offered a 20% off on next sandwich but I said it didn't matter "all I want is the good sandwich that you used to make" she was defensive the whole conversation and I probably won't ever go back again because of her complete denial of what...
