Honestly I am torn between writing a good or bad review. I recently moved from CA where you can find every type of cuisine anywhere you go. Indian food and great sushi are my favorite. Unfortunately it’s been difficult to find either since I moved here. I read good and mixed reviews about this establishment so we decided to try it. My husband and I were taking my Mother in law for dinner. Both had never tasted Indian food before. We arrived there a little before 5 pm. They still had not taken down the lunch buffet and I do have to agree with some review's that the restaurant is very dated. The gentleman that sat us down seemed a little cold and perturbed that we walked in. We would have waited if he needed us to. He was the only one in the restaurant and he still had to take down the buffet. At least my Mother in law was able to read over the menu more than a few times. I had ordered samosas to start which were okay. I was very disappointed that they do not offer any of the 3 chutney sauces that you normally get when having Indian food. That’s like not having soy sauce for Asian food or salsa for Mexican or tartar sauce and malt vinegar for Fish and chips. The samosas didn’t taste the same. Our waiter changed over after the appetizers were served and he was much more friendlier. For dinner we ordered the Butter chicken, tikka masala and vandaloo chicken for different spice levels. All were tasty but no spice. Which for me, I love spice. I kept asking for the Vandaloo to be spicier which they took back twice. Even my husband who has baby spice level said it was not spicy at all. They did get it spicy at the end. Overall, I would give the restaurant a 5 out of 10. I know they recently opened. It has great potential with a few things to improve. I would definitely try it again. They also offer live entertainment every other weekend which would be...
Read moreMy wife & I stopped in around 8pm a few nights ago and made an order to go for a late night dinner. We ordered butter chicken, chicken vandaloo, garlic naan and some rice. The food came out to us extremely quick. We ate the food as soon as we got home about 15 minutes later. The naan was burnt on the outside but still raw inside. The butter chicken didn't taste quite right either in fact it was near funky. The rice was ok. I did not have any of the chicken vandaloo because of the butter chicken having a funny taste to it. Regardless of me ending my meal early (as soon as I tasted some unpleasant butter chicken and burnt but raw naan) I still woke up with horrible stomach cramps the following morning. My stomach was just not right and I was miserable. My wife awoke with the same symptoms as well. My symptoms lasted nearly two days but my wife was luckier and hers stopped sometime in the afternoon. I refused to eat any more of the food that came from there. My wife (giving them the benefit of the doubt of recieving tainted food from this establishment) took some of the "leftovers" from that same meal to work the following evening for her lunch and the exact same symptoms returned once again. Regretfully, this experience is going to make us steer clear from this place. Which is unfortunate as our first two experiences from here the food was delicious and dare I...
Read moreWe are no connoisseurs of Indian Cuisine but this was pretty much top tier for us. The only con was we didn’t have enough room to try everything. We cannot wait to go back and try it all.
A few notes - some people on other posts complained about lack of decor and sometimes things were slow. They literally just opened and they’ve got the food down. They are investing in improving the place but it will take time. Personally I’m here for the food and cleanliness and everything else is just bonus.
We ordered veggie samosas to start - which we could have just ordered a whole plate of and left happy. Best ones I’ve ever had.
Chicken Vandaloo (tomato base and potatoes) and Karahi Chicken (peppers and more curry forward). Out of habit I always order a side of rice, naan (we went with the garlic version), and raita in case things get too spicy. We love spicy food but went with medium since it was our first time there. We definitely could have handled the spicy version but played it safe.
If you are nervous because you haven’t tried Indian food or worried about it being too be spicy - don’t be. They will temper it to your liking and the owner and staff couldn’t be nicer.
We went at 8PM so there was no buffet but that would be a great way for a newbie to try out everything.
What a great addition to...
