Daddy O Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Bulverde

I only gave a 1 star, because I had to in order to leave this review. Unable to review the food unfortunately we didn't get a chance to try due to walking out for rude service! Probably not missing much, high price menu. So there is 2 people serving, seating and I'm guessing bussing tables too. We came in right after a family of 4, there is 3 of us, no one else was in there the first time he saw us. He came back after 5 minutes to seat the family of 4 and by this time there was 2 other couples there, he was rude and loud barking at us asking who's next? How many? I raised my hand and said us 3 pointing at my husband and just 3 year old. He leaves again then comes back after leaving this other families food on the serving tray for the 2nd time without serving it to them. He then hollered at us you 3 come here, takes us to the back area but walks behind counter without showing us which table to sit at. He just barked again at us there that one in the corner! Any other time I would of just sat at any seat open but there was only two bar tables that were pretty high and I didn't feel comfortable eating with my 3 year old on a seat that high. At this point we're just done with the extremely rude treatment and decided to leave. The girl then says she could clean the table in the front off for us but it's been dirty ever since we arrived and didn't feel like waiting any longer. Sad, we were looking forward to trying it but honestly don't...

We are from San Diego California and are a bit on the snooty side when it comes to Mexican Food. I'm sure for most Daddy O would earn 5 stars. For me, what made the trip to this restaurant a hit was the nice owner - he is an incredible guy that takes his time to say thank you and shakes your hand. His staff are friendly and do not miss a beat in getting your order right and on time. As for the food - it is okay. But again my standards are really high. I like tacos, they use a pre-made shell that falls apart in your hand. For a Mexican restaurant I thought only Taco Bell did that. The margaritas are awful. They need some serious going back to the drawing board to get their house-margarita's right. The rest of the food was okay - and if you are missing your Mexican food fix - Daddy Os will not...

Decent food. Horrible service. We were seated and then sat for about 15 min before anyone came to take drink and food order. The person I am assuming was to be our server, was taking care of a large party and while he walked right by our table several times, he never said a word. Finally, a server from different side of restaurant came and apologized and took care of us. It was also freezing during our meal as our table was on top of an a/c floor vent that blasted cold air non-stop. We were going to switch tables, but the other available table also had a vent under it. Luckily, my purse is large, so I set it on vent blocking most cold air. Overall, not the best experience. Limestone Grill, down the highway from here, has much better food...
