To start everyone was very friendly and helpful. Nice little grocery shop attached. Authentic. Food was good only reason for the 3 stars is 1. our chimichangas tasted like the oil was a bit old and while I love all the cheese inside it wasnt quite melted all the way. Was thick and chunky. (The chicken inside had amazing flavor) 2. The rice seemed a little overcooked and too dry. 3 which is not to big of a problem as it happens. My chimi had a toothpick inside it where they hold it together during frying. Could have been bad if I took a bite with out looking at and cutting food into smaller bites. It happens though so very understanding and atleast 2 people came to check after they were made aware and apologized. Very good people. The good stuff was the beans were perfect with a little spice to it. The horchata was better than most other places but a little strong. Still good though. The salsa was great just wish it had a little more spice to it. Definitely give this place a try. The people are so wonderful definitely worth...
Read moreWe order take out meals from this restaurant quite often. The staff is genuinely friendly and the food is always perfect. You definitely get what you pay for here as the quality and quantity of our orders are always awesome. Try the chicken tostada *Also, many folks that lived here during hurricane Florence will always remember how difficult it was for restaurants, stores and gas stations to reopen due to lack of supplies, electricity, heating/cooling and flooding. The wonderful group that owns El Mirasol opened as fast as possible when MANY other places were not able to. They worked very hard during that time using every ingredient they had access to and used creativity in order to be able to serve excellent food to their customers. I truly feel that they care about people and wanted to be sure us local folks were able to find something great to eat while MANY people were going through major struggles and hard ships during hurricane Florence. Thank you El Mirasol, Burgaw loves you...
Read moreWow!!! So…here I am visiting my friends in North Carolina and since I’m from Oxnard California they say I should try the Mexican restaurant in town. At first I was thinking “ok, but it probably won’t be as good as Mexican food from Cali” but I tried it anyway. Let me say “Wow ¡La comida es muy buena!” The menudo is authentic and prepared there fresh. We always say if the menudo is good, everything else will be good. The jamaica is good and sweet. They have mild salsa but the hot salsa is prepared there and so so good! If all that wasn’t enough, they have the little market in the front area with authentic pan dulce, de la rosa mazapan candy, rompope paletas, saladitos, ingredients for tostilocos and even more Mexican groceries so you can make food at home. This place is awesome! I will definitely be going again…probably tomorrow...
