The Feed Lot Restaurant — Restaurant in Burkburnett

Came in for lunch on a Sunday. Followed the sign that said seat yourself, so I did. Unfortunately, all the 2-person tables were taken, so I ended up sitting at a 4-person table.

Ordered the Monti Cristo... it's cooked similar to what you would find at Cheddar's (or the old Bennigan's). Nothing wrong with the sandwich itself... it's quite good, maybe could do with a little bit more powdered sugar. The raspberry preserves unfortunately were cold, so you couldn't really dip the sandwich in them or easily spread it on the sandwich with the fork you're provided. That's one point of improvement they could work on for that dish.

My fries came out about 5 minutes after my sandwich, which wasn't a bad thing since it gave me time to finish the sandwich. The fries were hot, well-seasoned, and didn't need any condiments, so my props to the kitchen staff on that. A lot of restaurants don't properly season their fries, which makes it so the fries need ketchup or ranch or something to make them edible.

The service was good and reasonably quick given how busy the place was. I'm not sure if I'll eat here again since I don't make it up to this area often (my last time was in 2012), but I'll drop my recommendation here and say it's more than good enough for food from a small town.

My family was taking people as guests from Denton Tx and Ms with a total of 12 people. We waited an hour watching as it went from full room of people go in and out with us still waiting. They asked us if we would split up which eventually we agreed but that still didn’t help. Some of our group finally left leaving 8 of us waiting . It is very sad that people don’t care anymore. Several in our group were Black so the female wondered if that was a reason for the poor service. One member asked if that could be a part of the problem??? The boy taking care of us went to his manager and came back asking us to leave. No one accused them of anything, simply asked a question based on a request by one of the black friends request. At any rate we have never been treated with such disrespect . My family has frequented this restaurant for years so it was hard accepting such poor service and poor business practices. Doesn’t anyone take pride in their actions anymore. Sooooo...

We just moved to Wichita Falls about 7 months ago and one of our new vendor friends (we set up at the Farmers Market together) told us we needed to try this place because it had great food. She wasn't lying, our first time there tonight, and it was really delicious. I got the "small" chicken fried steak, and it was huge. If that was small, I can only imagine the size of the large. We ordered the sampler appetizer platter to share, and it was huge, too. The fried mushrooms and pickles were some of the best I've had. The banana pudding was really good, too. Our server, Jessi, was awesome, and she was so nice and helpful. She made sure we had everything we needed every time she passed by.
