Plucky's Cafe — Restaurant in Burlingame

My favorite place to hang out in Burlingame. My buddy and I go to Plucky's regularly to play Magic: The Gathering with people we met on the Plucky's discord. We always grab their Bare Bottle IPA's on tap which are both delicious and strong. They're open until 10pm Thursday through Saturday which is great for our extended gaming sessions. Their mission to create community feels genuine and the staff and community there are all wonderful. The only reason I don't rate Plucky's 5 stars is the the fact that at night you have to pay $10 per person per hour which is absolutely absurd. Especially because their food and drink are already expensive. FOOD - I've only tried 2 of their dishes but they were both appetizing. The ginger shot is my favorite item and I always grab one when I'm there. I'll generally pick up a chai if I'm there earlier in the day which is also great. ATMOSPHERE - Fantastic space. Huge windows allow for lots of natural light and the canvas prints against the brick walls allow for the perfect minimalist style. The space doesn't overload you with visual information as to distract too much from the game whilst you wait for your turn. The high ceilings and textured walls are perfect for letting your eyes briefly wonder, and there's little cute details to notice. The only problem is the lights are overly bright. I had an excellent experience coming here! The place is very spacious with a few tables and an area with couches. They have a fridge if you just want to grab and go or you can also order with the cashier. In addition, they have a bunch of game boards to use while you are there. Furthermore, we ordered the cappuccino and chai and they were both delicious. You can really taste the coffee and the flavor was just amazing. I also order a spinach quiche that came with a side salad, everything was very flavorful and delicious. The only thing is that I feel that for 14dls the piece of quiche should be bigger. My senior dad loves this place, I take him for brunch dates and he loves the Barako coffee cream top and his chicken breakfast burrito! I love the Tokyo fog for the slight subtle pandan flavor to my matcha topped with einspanner cream. I also enjoyed the omelets, quinoa bowls! The food are all freshly made and homey!

The young people I mentor at my church love going here too! I take them here for mentoring coffee dates, or for program planning or just bonding!

They have tons of boardgames you can play with. Its a place that encourages healthy community connections.

The manager and staff are super friendly and caring, Doreen, the Mgr is so friendly and always asks us for feedback.

This place has definitely become a quick community favorite...
