We host an annual burrito handout with our medical students, and Chile Colorado is hands down the best local caterer I work with for UVM Medical School events. They are incredibly responsive to pre-planning emails and questions, deliver to the right location (an impressive feat alone, in the maze that is UVM, and especially UVM College of Medicine), they have timely and regular communication to ease event planning anxiety, and their food is amazing. The event is a roaring success every year with rave reviews from our students and many requesting their business card.
They are also incredibly accommodating with any and all food restrictions we have thrown their way, and clearly label all of their items with ingredients. This is rare and truly amazing when planning food for large student communities with an impressive and diverse number of food restrictions and allergies. We even had a new one - where a student was at the event, asking if the food had cilantro in it. I was able to text Chile Colorado directly, and they responded in under five minutes; it made my day but even more so, it truly made that student's day. They had asked on a whim, assuming any Mexican food was bound to have cilantro in it. Their face lit up at getting to enjoy the event with their peers.
Currently, Chile Colorado is not a "UVM Preferred Caterer" but their food and service quality are well worth the additional fee and administrative work to host them for our...
Read moreBetter off going to moes or chipotle. Spent 120 dollars for 3 burritos and 1 margarita each. It took us 30 minutes to get drinks for 3 people they were 12 dollars each, extremely weak and only 4 sips. Tiny glass was only 1/2 filled. When the food came 2/3 of the orders were incorrect. They took them back to the kitchen and then came back 10 minutes later and said they could make the correct orders but it would take 35 minutes and asked if we wanted to wait or take the wrong food. We took the food that was already made. Beans were bland and soggy. Rice was overcooked cold and crispy. Smothered burrito consisted of bland beans and meat. No dimension in flavor, no acid, no veggies, just beans and meat. My friend who got beef and bean burrito was given a burrito with only beans. He told the waitress and she came back 10 minutes later with a bowl of cold ground beef. None of us enjoyed our meals the atmosphere was really stuffy and they weren’t very apologetic for all the mistakes that were made. We were trying to be understanding because they just opened and we would have been okay with slow service. I have worked as a buser, waitress and bartender I understand that things do not always run smoothly but the food was not worth it. My friend said it was the worst restaurant experience he has ever had and I have to agree. Very sad we were really hopeful that this place...
