I come here sometimes for dinner. When I go out for dinner, it is more for the atmosphere than for the food. I prefer to sit in a restaurant that has a nice atmosphere. Well, I have had nice experiences here in the past, but this evening was awful. I came here with my child and ordered main courses and an ice cream for dessert. Our waitress asked if we wanted the dessert brought out with the main course, and I said no thank you, I would like it after we finish eating our main course. A few minutes after we get our main course, the waitress comes by and rudely demands if we are “ready for dessert.” Our plates are still 3/4 full! But I sat a polite “no thank you, not yet.” A few minutes after that, the waitress swoops by and SLAMS the ice cream dish on our table, and, while walking away from us, demands to know if we are “ready for a check.” My plate was still half full at this time, and my child’s plate, more than half full! We were nowhere near finished with our meals, and if Volcano restaurant wants to kick customers out in the middle of our paid-for meal, there are more decent ways to do so! And no, it was NOT near closing time ( there was at least another hour until closing, and lots of other customers were in the restaurant being treated decently)!!!! ( and if it WAS closing time, WHICH IT WAS NOT, a polite “sorry but we’re closing now” would have had me out of there within 5 minutes with no hard feelings.) I have never experienced such nasty behavior and such a lack of courtesy from a waitress in my life, and it made me completely loose my appetite. Of course, by the time my child finished his meal, our ice cream was completely melted. But the worst thing was the rudeness and the lack of basic courtesy that made me feel like I was not treated like a human being.
Volcano restaurant, please: hire waitresses who know how to treat customers with BASIC courtesy- you don’t SLAM desserts on a customers table , and rudely demand that they take “check” when they have just begun their meal!!! -Unless of course, you are trying to signal to them that their presence is not welcome. Well,...
Read moreThis is hands down the best sushi I’ve had in Burlington ✨ We dined in and everything we ordered was so fresh and flavorful. We ordered seaweed salad, edamame, and crab rangoon to start. All of these appetizers staples were great, no complaints, the meal was off to a fabulous start.
The true stars are the sushi rolls. We chose two specialty rolls and two of the standard maki rolls. Our favorite was the Maple Salmon Roll. This has crab, avocado, cucumber inside topped with salmon and their special maple sauce. I don’t know how many times I’ll say something was fresh in this review but when it comes to sushi, I know that’s what I want to hear. And the sauces were just the perfect salty/sweet combo. We also had the Snow Mountain, Sweet Potato Roll, and Spicy Tuna Roll. They were all good but I particularly enjoyed that the two rolls that had a tempura component (the shrimp in the Snow Mountain and the sweet potato) were both freshly fried, crispy, and slightly warm inside the roll - that contrast in texture is just ✨chef’s kiss✨
The service was also attentive and friendly. We enjoyed every bit of our sushi date. Thank...
Read moreBrought my parents to this place. It was awful. My father and I had pho noodles. They added vegetables that were not normally added in Pho. The smell of the soup was peculiar and the soup was oily... my father and I could only tolerate taking a few bites. My mother ordered vegetable lo mein which she said it was not too bad but they don't use the typical noodles for lo mein. We ordered 1 roll of the Spicy California Roll. It only had imitation crab meat and spicy mayo. Usually a California roll has imitation crab meat and avocado... The egg roll was okay but overpriced for the amount and quality. I don't recommend coming to this place. They're arranging food in their own way at their own convenience and not thinking about making higher quality of...
