Overall, it's a great place to stop for home cooking. Sorry, I didn't think to take pics of the food. For dinner this place was very good. I had the meatloaf mashed potatoes and okra. The potatoes didn't seem instant, unlike what someone else said it was. The size of the meatloaf was good for me, but for others, it may need to be a bit more, like 2 slices instead of 1. My sister had the Big Texas, which was a large sandwich and tasted good. However, the bottom was soggy. My daughter had the steak, and she said that for the price, it was a tasty steak. She ordered medium rare but got a medium well. The Rubin sandwich was really good but could use more dressing. Catfish was great and large portions. We all had pie and different ones. Overall, all the pies were great. Lemon was a bit strong, though. My favorite was the brownies pie. P.s. this restaurant is across the street for a location Vinyard.

Decent looking little country restaurant. Service was pretty bad and food was worse. Hardly saw the waitress. My three guys got the chicken fried steak, all hated it, my two teens wouldn’t even eat it past the first bite. They said it was too chewy and gross, almost gamey. One boy spit it out. Potatoes were so watery and my son wouldn’t eat those either. My husband ate his steak because he was hungry and will eat food he hates. I told the waitress, who didn’t care, apologize or offer to take anything off. We paid $80 for basically two of us to eat. And these were two hungry teen boys who had been hiking. That says a lot. French fries and slaw were the only good things. Shrimp was just okay.

Cute cafƩ with good food just three miles from Inks Lake State Park. It's attached to a store at a gas station. We had cheeseburgers with choice of cheese on really delicious sourdough buns. Sweet potato fries and cole slaw as sides and one order of hushpuppies a la carte. Everything we had was served fresh and hot. At the start of the meal we were offered complimentary pinto beans and they were delicious too. Sparse gluten free options (burgers w/o bun, salad, loaded baked potato).

We have a vacation property close to the Hoover Valley Cafe, and we utilize the cafe just about every time we are in the neighborhood. I’m a big fan of their hamburgers, they have an excellent bun that takes it over the top and the seasoned fries are usually cooked to perfection. The specials are always good and affordable priced. The people that work at Hoover Valley Cafe are wonderful locals, great friendly welcome and service. They have been open for a long time and serving good food for as long as I’ve been eating there. I give it a 5 star rating based on comparison with other small town or rural food establishments, and I cannot think of a place within 10 miles that I’d rather go to over the short...

I have to be honest… I decided to try this cafe because it was close to home and I was craving catfish (7 months pregnant)…. First I would like to say I was not served catfish. Whatever they use is not what I ordered. Not only was it not catfish but it was soggy and clearly straight from a frozen bag. Second they use tartar sauce in their potato salad… never in my life have I heard of that…. Horrible. So bad that my 8 year old son without knowing my opinion on it said ā€œthey did nothing right with this potato saladā€. I rarely leave a review but felt the need to because most other reviews led me to think I was getting something great. Don’t waste your money…. It was a horrible experience based off...
