MAMA'S COUNTRY COOKING — Restaurant in Burnside

Time was around 1:00 PM on a Sunday after church. We decided to try Mama's because the Parking Lot was full. First thing I noticed that there was an outside table blocking "Veterans Parking", my wife even commented on it, I served 26 years in the Navy, I appreciate the parking spot but it is not on my top priority. Went end and one table was empty, but still had dishes on the table. We waited and finally someone came over and tried to clean the table but made a bigger mess by spilling stuff off of the plates.

Sat down and about 10 minutes later a lady came up and asked what to drink. I ordered 1/2 tea as did my wife. 5 minutes later, got the tea, took a sip and that was the last sip. Wife ordered a fountain drink and we ended up sharing that.

After about 20 minutes the lady came over and took our order. We ordered Cheese Burger with Fries. About 40 minutes later our order arrived. The Cheese Burger was a little larger than a Krystal Burger. It had all the trimmings but the lettuce was the part pulled off at the end, no green, only white. I had at the maximum of 25 small fries on the plate (and the were small and cold).

I asked for mustard. When the mustard came it was not the top of the line mustard, as a mater of fact it had almost no mustard taste to it.

We finished eating and I went to pay. 2 burgers/fries and two teas that we could not drink. $42 and change.

I love to support local business, however, when I do I expect a heck of a lot more than what I received.

Would I recommend this place. NO WAY. Service was bad, food was bad, portions were bad, dinner was hot, cost was was high for what poor quality that we received.

Disgusting! Just drive on by! My husband was served a raw hamburger. It was gray on the outside...like it was on the grill for only 1 min. The inside was totally raw. We asked her to take it back and have it cooked. We didn't get our drinks until after our meal came, and we had to ask for them. There was only one other party eating (one person) so she wasn't busy waiting on other guests. We got no silverware and so after I requested them, instead of going to get the silverware, she started cleaning tables. I had to ask a 2nd time. My BLT came without lettuce. When I asked her for some lettuce to put on my sandwich, she went to a nearby table and started cleaning it so I had to ask her again. Then when I got the lettuce, it was brown and gross looking. There was like a one inch slice of tomato on the sandwich. The waitress was complaining the entire time she was taking our order that she wasn't getting tipped. Hmmmm. Then when we went to pay, she was confused and it took her 5 minutes to ring up order order. $22 for a BLT, a burger with tator tots...

I was excited about trying a diner along this route, however this was not a good experience. Building was filled with grease smoke, which was weird because the bacon tasted microwaved. The hashbrown was smothered in grease and that was all you could taste. I love a good greasy spoon, however this food was all old grease and no flavor. Of course this is after we waited 30 minutes and after getting our order the 2nd time they tried, but still not correct. Also the bathroom is outside the building which could have used a sign so we would know and toilet paper/paper towels would have been nice. Do not stop, keep driving on 27 and stop at Wagfle King; google did not make us aware of this location, if they had we would have left happy...
