Buck '54 Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Burnsville

Went for dinner tonight and was blown away with how bad the food has become. It used to be amazing. Wings were overdone and coated with dried Buffalo sauce, Buck burger was 'meh' at best, fried chicken sandwich was supposed to have hot honey. The only thing hot was the temperature as it came out of the fryer. I requested some extra buffalo sauce for both the chicken sandwich and wings for flavor and to be able to swallow it.

The buggest suprise was the Ruben. They used to have the best in the metro. The bread was lightly toasted and was falling apart. The corned beef was super fatty. Would not suggest it to anyone now The only good parts were the fries and celery.

I did complain about the Ruben and was discounted 50%. Kind of ridiculous because we only took 2 bites. Maybe because my son ate some fries, it wasn't totally removed?

Anyway, the place is cool for a drink and sit on the deck, but we went there for dinner, and it would like to go during ski season but unless some changes are made, I'll just eat at the...

The food was mostly great (when it was correct-more on that later), but due to being short staffed the service was spotty. Our server was very attentive but the kitchen appeared to be overwhelmed. We had a party of seven, and the first three meals were served (one with incorrect side dish) then after a several minute pause two more were served. Then another several minute pause and the last two meals were served. The first, chicken strips, were overcooked to the point of charred breading; the second was a totally wrong burger when the order was for chili. Another several minute pause before the chili made it to the table. Maybe this should have been a three or two star rating, but because of the busyness I will give them a second chance before...

We ate here during a warm-up ski break. It's a fun ski bar with a fireplace and lots of ski decor. It's not large, so it was very busy with families at dinner time. I'd recommend avoiding the 6 o'clock hour on the weekend. We eventually got seats at the bar. Service was very friendly. We enjoyed the food and it exceeded our expectations for a ski bar. Tried burgers with fries and the chips and guacamole. I really liked the fries, but my husband prefers crispy fries, so we were split on that. Good variety is beer options to choose...
