Staff is rude, uncaring and inconsiderate. I was appalled. My sister and I brought my elderly parents (Both 88 years old) to Uncle Ronnie's Red Taven for my dad's 88th birthday. My dad cannot walk without assistance of a walker and has to literally be lifted out of the car. It's February 19, 2014, we had over a foot of snow fall recently... it's pouring rain out and the parking lot was full of ice, snow and slush with puddles of water everywhere.... That s okay, it's February in New England and we deal with that kind of stuff. There was a huge dump truck with a plow on the front of it parked in front of the handicap entrance, blocking so you couldn't get anywhere near the entrance.... THAT'S NOT OKAY. So we parked as close as we could. My sister helped my mom walk through the parking lot and I had to hold my dad up as he was trying to make his way with his walker through the muddy, slushy, ice filled parking lot. When we walked into the restaurant my sister politely said to the female behind the bar "there is a big truck blocking the handicap entrance." There was a guy sitting at the bar talking to the bartender and with a cocky attitude the bartender said to my sister "that's his truck and he's leaving in a minute." (Really? How about maybe politely saying something like 'I'M SORRY ma'am he just came in for a minute") So I was pretty calm when I said "it really shouldn't be parked in front of the handicapped entrance. I just had to walk my dad through the slushy, ice filled parking lot." So this should be the part where someone… The truck driver… The bartender… The server… The older lady that was probably the owners wife… should have said something like "I'm very sorry for the inconvenience" or something to that effect. Instead the truck driver jumps off his barstool, as he heads for the door he walks right by me, and snickers while he s looking at me out of the corner of his eye. So of course I packed the family up and get the heck out of there. What the hell kind of place is this??? Who let's the employees treat...
Read moreTook my wife out for Mother's Day. Thought I treat her with a nice meal. Was seated but had to wait for waitress. Ordered 2 drinks took a bit. We ordered our meal. My wife ordered stuff shrimp. I ordered prime rib and a crock of onion soup. Well we ordered our food at 5pm. Received soup half hour later and our food an hour later. Not sure if it was the waitress or the kitchen but come on. Well my wife was happy but as for me no. If you're going to spend this much on prime rib you shouldn't have half prime rib and the rest all fat. I know you do have some fat but come on. We ordered a couple more drinks and that took forever. Other people came in after us and they served them faster than we were. I normally don't complain when I go out to eat but I needed to say something. In the end they removed my meal but put a little additional note just to say this is what you saved. If your going to be a good restaurant just deal with it. Don't need to add sarcasm to the bill. Guaranteed won't return any time soon if ever. If your not happy say something it's your right. You pay enough for what you expect to get. Otherwise your...
Read moreThe server we had, which could have been the owner, we're not sure, was extremely nice and helpful. Answered any questions we had, and was able to find out answers pertaining to items on the menu, and make changes if we wanted/were able to do so. The food was absolutely excellent, and the prices were reasonable for the items, including alcoholic drinks. Had tons of different types of food on the menu, had seasonal specials, and had things, such as bunches of crab legs, that I've never seen/are unable to get, at other restaurants, including seafood ones. Had fresh, piping hot bread, that, surprisingly to us, had garlic baked into it, and it tasted great with the fresh, whipped butter it was served with. The food definitely hit the spot, and there was enough left over for further future meals. Considering we'll be moving into the area, we will DEFINITELY be regular patrons here! 5 out of 5 stars for sure! I can't wait to see what the future specials will be, and can't wait to go back and try all the different things I saw that I didn't have this...
