If I could give them 10 stars, I would.
I emailed with no prior contact, in flowery Elizabethan dialect, describing our Renaissance Festival wedding, our lives, and our budget, along with some photos of cakes we liked and the meaning of the symbols we hoped to include. Stephanie didn't miss a beat and sent an AMAZING sketch back, with complete order details in the same pretty speech! She had me at "Huzzah!"
I cannot say enough good things about them. Everyone was courteous and extremely professional and organized. They were a beam of light amid a lot of uncertainty--I knew from day 1 we could rely on them. And they weren't afraid to dive into our crazy needy world; in fact they seemed to get a kick out of it!
She worked in our budget and paid us lots of attention for our tasting. And the cake was absolutely delicious (am I the only one who thinks wedding cakes aren't usually very good?) with barely a scrap left because people went back for more. I will try to post a photo... It was three tiers, made to look like tree stumps with fall leaves and berries, climbed by two golden dragons and topped with our sigil in chocolate. We cut it with a sword and I licked the frosting off!
Seriously, look no further. We are so, so grateful and I will be back...
Read moreI ordered Sesame Street cupcakes for my sons 2nd birthday party. During my consultation we discussed lots of sprinkles, colors, and a special cupcake for the birthday boy. They charged me $80 for 24 cupcakes, which I was ok with because I wanted my son to have fun cupcakes. When I picked them up, they were not what we had discussed. They were very plain. They put maybe 7-8 sprinkles that were hidden under the toppers. The “special” cupcake for my son was exactly like every other cupcake except it was rolled in cookie crumbs which we had never discussed. My son does not like chocolate and that is why I asked for sprinkles. I called Saturday and they said they would call me on Monday, but they didn’t call. I called Tuesday and the manager just gave excuses and became very rude. I wasn’t looking for a refund , just wanted them to know that they did not give me the product I had ordered. I would NOT recommend this place for special...
Read moreI needed desserts for a surprise birthday party for my boyfriend. Wanting to support a local small business, I googled and found Tasty Layers and decided to give them a try. I began a conversation with them on Facebook messenger and got enough information to call and give them my order. They were very patient while helping me decide, I had no idea what I wanted. I was able to reserve for the following weekend and pay over the phone.
Pickup was easy. They are asking customers to wear a mask in the store, not a problem for me, but will still allow unmasked customers to enter.
I ordered several varieties of cupcakes, chocolate & caramel dipped pretzels, chocolate covered bacon, cake pops, chocolate covered strawberries, and chocolate dipped peanut butter cookies.
Everything was amazing. All the guests asked where I got the desserts. I was extremely happy with the turnout. I will be back anytime I...
