Wow. This place blew my mind and dominated my taste buds. I was passing through the area and had a craving for some sort of peanut chicken dish, and this was the only thing that popped up, so I went for it, and was very impressed.
I placed a to-go order for the peanut noodles with chicken, and a side of chicken dumplings. The flavors, texture and quality was out of this world.
The dumplings were very good, but next time, I would see if I could possibly get the sauce they were served in on the side. Might be better in a dine in experience, but the amount of sauce in the to-go box kind of overwhelmed the dumplings as a whole, and kept everything piping hot.
Speaking of heat... one issue I often have with restaurants, is that the food doesn't come out hot enough. That is not the case here. Both the dumplings and the noodles were insanely hot! I had to wait about 15 minutes before I could even take a bite. The freshness and heat was incredible.
As for the peanut noodles... my gosh. The depth of flavor in the peanut sauce was divine. The sweetness of the coconut milk, blended with the chili peppers, and savory peanuts was unreal. And the noodles... so thick, and they sop up all the flavor of the sauce so well.
The portion size was massive, which made me feel better about the price tag. The price wasn't high for the level of quality by any means. But knowing that I'm going to be getting three or four meals of it makes it even better.
While I can't speak on the experience of dining in here, I was fascinated by the single table aspect. If I lived in the area, I would definitely reserve a table and get the dine in experience with friends or family. Since there is only one table, don't expect to walk in and be seated by a host. Definitely call ahead.
The last thing I want to say is, when I arrived to up to pick up my order, I had to wait about five minutes, and in that time, I had the pleasure of overhearing the kitchen staff talking about ingredients and their cooking process. I could tell they were very passionate about what they make and serve there. It was obvious they care from the quality of the food by itself... but hearing them talk about this in a candid way really solidified it, and was quite charming.
I wish I lived close enough to come back again, because my experience was so wonderful that I want to explore the rest of the menu to discover what other heavenly dishes the chefs have come up with.
Thai Nation Bistro is without a doubt, the best Thai food I have had to date. It's going to be hard to find a place that can top this level of quality, quantity and flavor at any...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was really hoping to give this place a good review but I just can't! If you are going to open a restaurant, at least be as good as if not better than your competition, which I think is Bangkok peppers. B.Peppers is on average $2 cheaper than Thai nation and the food is so much better! I tend to get the traditional Pad Thai or Pad-Se-Ew. I got the Shrimp Pad-Se-ew and cabbage bites at T. Nation.. The cabbage bites were ok but half of them had the breading fall off and the cabbage did not look appetising. The chicken inside was dry as well. The Pad-Se-Ew was supposed to be mild (#2) and there were red peppers all over. I am good with spicy, just not what I asked for. I had my drink gone before I was even close to being finished. The noodles were clumped together, the shrimp was breaded and it tasted like old grease with no shrimp flavor at all. Who puts fried shrimp in a Pasta dish like this? The fried eggs were way over fried and in a couple bites I had egg shells. You know that crunch if you have ever chewed on an egg shell. The eggs were so over cooked that I couldn't chew half of it. I just had to spit it out. It wasn't breaking up.. The taste of Pad-Se-Ew was bland and nowhere near the taste and quality as B.Peppers. Especially not wheny T.Nation charges more. That restaurant needs to be torn down and rebuilt. It was an old coney island that the last few owners left that way without much change. it looks clean but it is not warm and inviting like B.Peppers. I will not be back. First impression is everything and this place left a lot...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday my husband and I decided to try out Thai Nation Bistro for our Anniversary dinner. We sat in a cozy little area in the back and were greeted by a very informative and personable young man who introduced himself as Josh and took our drink orders. We let him know we have never been to the Bistro before and he took the time to tell us about their food, the spice/ heat levels from 0 to 5 and how each are different. We ended up ordering a few different things, to take home to the kids of course š and everything was delicious! We decided for our first time to try everything at a level 2. We like spicy foods and could have handled a 3 or 4 but we enjoyed what we had. I'd say a level 2 is a medium heat level. The Thai tea is amazing, a definite must try. Really pairs well with the meals.
I have never been more blown away by the quality and pride of a Restaurant before. Everything is made fresh to order. If you don't want something in your dish, no problem and the amount you get is perfect! Oh and I need to mention, their to go containers are made in the USA, dishwasher safe and microwave safe. I love that I can re-use these and then Recycle them when done. I would have given them a 10 star review if possible.
Thank you to Thai Nation Bistro for making our experience and meal amazing. We...
