Beech Mountain Lakes Restaurant — Restaurant in Butler Township

Our server was great. I ordered the guacamole and chips. The guacamole was "dry" like paste, and there were unripe Avacados chopped up in the mix also. Very bland. No spices, or flavor to speak of. The chips consisted of a flour tortilla, cut into pieces and fried crisp. In all the years of ordering guac /chips I've never had flour tortilla chips. I've always received corn chips, or corn tortillas fried in oil. Guess this experience has taught me to ask what kind of chips are served. My husband had white chicken chili which was very spicy for him. He also had chicken fingers and fries. The chicken was good, but the fries were soft, droopy, and very oily. I don't think they were fried long enough. Don't know if I'd order food again from here. The prices are above what's "normal" at "sit down" restaurant chains. This place gets it's high rating due to it's simplicity and rustic charm. The fact that its attached to an arcade and a bar helps. While the variety is not vast, the food that is on the menu is made quite well. The only exception to this would be the potato soup which could use a bit of seasoning, but a dab of pepper and all was well for me. I had the chopped beef, which was pretty much Salisbury steak with mash and green beans.....all of it was great. The meat was cooked well, the mash was made perfectly and the green beans were buttery. Their birch beer was very tasty and not too sweet. The bar had a singer who was singing very nice. This place has come a long way and still standing. I tried breakfast when first opened/debuted, and I was not happy at all, to say the least. Ordered egg white omelet, no cheese, and just did not get what I ordered. After hearing much better reviews from other patrons, I decided to give it one more try. I must say i was pleasantly surprised💯. Our waitress (sorry forgot name) greeted us with a smile. Hot coffee and water arrived not even 10mins after sitting!
