My takeaway after my first visit to the Beech Mountain Greek Shack location (I wish Google Maps didn't still list the old restaurant in the same spot) was that I would probably swing by once or twice a week if I wanted to watch football at the bar and grab a gyro or some fries.
From what I understand, there's still some State government business going on with determining whether or not the restaurant can serve alcohol, so at the present moment, you order at the counter and the staff will bring your food to you and if you want booze you order separately at the bar. It felt like a fast-casual kind of arrangement on the whole and might actually be a little convenient if you want to open up a tab at the bar and stay a while or grab some snacks as the night goes on.
The staff member at the register was very friendly and eager to answer any questions about the menu, the food was prepared pretty quickly, and being able to sit outside on the deck and look out over the lake was quite nice. I didn't bring any kids with me, but there were a couple items on the menu that I think were suitable for children—including the mandatory chicken tenders meal.
As for the food itself, I came away pretty satisfied. The menu is not what I would call massive, though I'd rather eat somewhere with a couple dozen solid items rather than a place with an encyclopedia volume's worth of mediocre food. I had also assumed that the menu would be the same as the Mountain Top location, but this wasn't the case as there were a couple items I wasn't expecting. I think you should be able to see the current menu on the "Beech Mountain Lakes Restaurant" Google Maps listing. You could also dig a little bit on Facebook to find more...
