This place used to be our go to but the food has gone down hill since reopening a few weeks ago…. but the real issue I have is the dishonesty that we experienced tonight. Our server, perhaps by mistake, gave us the wrong change back and we noticed once we got home and we called right away. Spoke directly with the server and he tried to tell us other wise when we knew for a fact we were shorted $17. The bill was $83 we gave him $100 in cash and told him to keep $15 for himself and then we watched him struggle to figure out the change so we handed him another $20 for the tip and said just give us $5 back from this and our change from the bill. He only gave us $5 back and when we called he tried to lie and say we never gave him an extra $20 when he knows for a fact we did. I went there minutes later asked to speak to the manager who I was told 4 minutes prior on the phone was there, just to tell me as I walked in the manger “just stepped out”. Mistakes happen, I was a sever for years, but right your wrongs… don’t lie and double tip yourself and then try to tell me otherwise. That alone will make me think twice about eating here again and if we ever do, I will make sure to use a debit/credit card and always triple check my...
Read moreI’ve been here three times in the past year for breakfast, lunch, and dinner– and the food has always been bad. Yesterday, I was served a raw burger. I politely sent it back and when it was returned I realized it had been microwaved and served on the same bloody bread with the same lettuce and tomato. My fries were dry and flavorless. Waters only upon request. The menu is very small for a diner, and it’s quite pricey for what you get. However, my lavender latte was lovely. They would’ve been better off sticking with the cafe vibe in another location and leaving the food to the pros.
The waiter was kind, attentive and apologetic. Service was good this time. Last time the waiter harassed us claiming he didn’t get a good enough tip. $8 for $40 tab.
While I have been excited for this place to get up and running since it’s new ownership, I don’t foresee this place lasting. The outside looks deserted. The building is unkept, with vining weeds consuming what was once landscaping, no mulch or inviting plants. It’s a clear reflection of what comes out of...
Read moreI recently stopped by The Oasis for breakfast and tried a few items from the menu. The food was well-prepared and quite enjoyable, with flavors that definitely stood out. However, I did notice that the prices leaned on the higher side, which might make it a bit less accessible for those seeking a more casual, budget-friendly meal.
While the diner has a fresh, modern vibe that many will appreciate, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia for its former identity. Years ago, The Oasis was a classic neon-lit diner, exuding an old-school charm that gave it a unique character. While the new iteration is undeniably cool and contemporary, I found myself missing the retro ambiance that once made it feel like a timeless staple.
For those looking to experience a blend of quality food and a modern dining experience, The Oasis is worth checking out. However, if you have fond memories of its previous incarnation, be prepared for a very...
