Worst first impression ever! Today 12/31/2017 was my very first time coming to your restaurant. My son and I only moved to this area in August. He has eaten at Country Kitchen before, on a field trip, and said the experience was pleasant. Today, however, I arrived at 8:02 a.m. and ordered almost immediately. The food took nearly half an hour to reach the table even though there were very few people in the restaurant, and a gentleman who came in half an hour after us, received his plate before us. When my food finally arrived, the order was incomplete. Let's not mention the fact that I had no silverware to eat with even if I still had the desire to do so after such an unusual wait time. My food had gotten cold on the ten minutes it had sat on the table waiting for an order of grits (that my dogs won't even touch, in all seriousness) so I paid for mine and my son's meals, an extremely high price for the portions served, and I still left the girl a small tip. She did not ever tell me her name, would not even put the phone down when I came to the counter to pay, and is probably still wondering why I only left a single dollar bill...when I waited tables, if this had been my customer, I would have received a penny, upside down on the table and nothing else. I will NEVER return, because my very first time in, everything was poor, from entering the door to leaving through it as well. I arrived home, which is three miles from your restaurant at 9:58 with two boxes of cold food...warmed my son's pancakes in the microwave and fed mine to the dogs...no one can eat a cold over-easy egg, much less cold, soggy buttered toast...and using the microwave would have made them worse. I am utterly...
Read moreOur first time in the Byrdstown area and we were happy to find this place. I got chicken parmesan with baked potato and garlic bread and glazed carrots. Good size portions and good price, but the BEST chicken parmesan I've had in ages. My wife got country fried steak with green beans and potato kegs (think double size tots with corn and onion in soft center). Shortstaffed, so choose your time to visit wisely. So glad to have found this restaurant. It is now in my Top 5 anywhere. If you're in the Keys, go to Burdine's; if you're near Pulaski, go to the Hickory House; if you're in Spartanburg, go to the Beacon; if you're in Carrabelle, go to the Fisherman's Wife; if you're anywhere even in the rough vicinity of Byrdstown, go to the Country Kitchen. You won't be...
Read moreI found this restaurant by searching the nearest one to me. Turned out to be an excellent choice. A large restaurant with an extensive menu. There were corn nuggets and mozzarella sticks as appetizers. I had my own personal pizza, others had their famous catfish sandwich with crisp, crinkle fries. Another group ordered chicken fingers, baked potatoes and coleslaw...grilled cheese sandwiches and fries. Everything was hot and fresh. There was a dessert menu too with lots of yummy choices including an .80 ice cream! If you're in the neighborhood stop by and eat. No reservations needed but they were able to accommodate our...
