Sazón Mexicano Cantina & Restaurant — Restaurant in Cabo Rojo

I am going to give my experience here but the rating is solely on the food. Holy crap!!! There were so many bugs I wanted to run out of there. I had a white shirt and it was covered in these small black bugs. I know this is beyond their control but we had to endure that in order to eat. This lasted the entire two hours we were there (kitchen a little slow). Fanning yourself with a menu worked a little to get the bugs off. About the food. Kitchen was a little slow, plates did not come together. We ordered one app and five meals. We had the queso fundido and chips. The cheese had great flavor and good stringy consistency. Chips were ok, did not seem fresh. First meal that arrived, veggie burrito. It was not eaten by our friend. She said it was not good. Consistency of veggies and flavor were the reasons given. Ten minutes later my al pastor burrito and al pastor quesadilla for my brother in law. He liked the quesadillas, but my burrito was not good. It had good size but it had no flavor. Bland and very little meat. About another ten to twenty minute the tacos al pastor for my wife arrived along with the other burrito for my other friend. Tacos were not good. Although these had flavor the meat was really tough and very small. The other burrito was like mine, bland and very forgetable. Margaritas were the best thing about the meal. After a long hike up to puente de piedra we was thirsty and hungry. We saw the sign driving and I did a uturn to go inside thank God I did. The best quesadilla and flautas I ever had. Better than the ones in Jersey and New York. Definitely stopping by on Sunday before going back to the states. The name sazón mexicano is perfect. They put flavor in the food and the chinola natural drink was awesome. This is a must stop place to go....

Authentic Mexican food! At the moment we arrived, we had nothing but an pleasant experience. Everything is clean, the employees are helpful and friendly, Darinel is a perfect host. He stopped by several times to make sure we were happy and to get feedback….as the ladies who served us did. Great margaritas. Excellent food.
