The Feed Lot — Restaurant in Cabool

Let me just start by saying that you guys have done a great job revamping the building, the games on the patio has really brought a great family feel to the establishment and it nice to see. My fiance and myself have came 5 different times, the first two experiences we had were phenomenal, the burgers are delicious, the fried okra were perfectly cooked, the ice cream was fantastic, and the service was great. The third time we went the burgers were cold, and the okra both the 3rd and 4th time were so over seasoned that we couldn't eat them, so we were a little disappointed with that. I also want to add that when we were ordering an employee made a unprofessional comment asking us if we had ordered enough, which surprised us, then she tried to back pedal that comment by laughing it off. Ive worked in many customer service positions and it was just a distasteful thing to say to a customer, especially ordering food. I understand that sometimes there are mistakes, so we still decided to continue coming to support our local businesses. Unfortunately the most recent visit was a deciding factor that it was the last time we will be coming for food, we came to try out the chili cheese tots and chili cheese dogs, the tots were old, the chili cheese wasnt cooked or heated to proper temps, and my fiance spent the next day sick, throwing up, upset...

So, I'm not a burger afficionado. More of an "it'll do" attitude about them, honestly. So I was not expecting anything special when I stopped in to try out the new burger joint. That said... Wow! I actually said "Wow", outloud, all alone in my truck. The first bite was all burger as it ovehangs the bun on all sides. No condiments or bun, it's possibly the best burger I've tasted in my 53 years on this rock. The condiments and bun did not change that opinion. Even the fries were great, light and crispy and not at all greasy. It was a great meal. My only complaint is that they close too early to bring some home to the family for dinner. What a great addition to our community!! Locally owned and with their own beef, the feed lot family has made an awesome hub for food and fun. They also have gluten free buns!! The milkshakes are not only amazing, but the coldest milkshake I've ever had which will come in handy on those hot summer days just around the corner. Some of the best fries ever. Crispy and seasoned. Smashburgers with lots of flavor and crispy edges. And fun games like corn hole and connect four. The owners have hope for movie nights and corn hole events in the future.
