The Watering Hole Cairo — Restaurant in Cairo

Our son plays baseball for Cairo so we are there twice a week for games. He has to be there early so we usually go get a snack and a drink before his games. We have been here two weeks in a row and the service leaves a lot to be desired. Last week there was one bartender and she was busy shooting the bull with the regulars so I had to stand in line at the bar to get our drinks. I also watched customers come in and she didn’t even acknowledge them. This week we stopped, tonight there was two bartenders, the same one that worked last week was standing at a table for 10 minutes visiting while the other lady took orders, got drinks and answered the phone. We had cheeseburgers and fries and were hoping for a pretty quick in and out and the service was a little slow. I did not scrutinize the bill because I was in a rush but it seemed like we maybe got overcharged. It was about $63 for 6 single cheeseburgers with fries and water to drink. The cheeseburgers were supposed to be their special that day at $8.50. They did make one wrong as they put bacon on it. We took it because we were in a rush (maybe they charged us for that). The french fries were very good, but the portion size was a little small especially on three or four of the plates. I assumed that I would be able to eat some of the french fries and maybe a bite or two of hamburger from my 8 year old's plate but he consumed it all (he's average sized and not...

Not sure how good the food was. We never were acknowledged let alone given a menu. Very disappointing as we thought maybe we found another spot to frequent for a casual dinner or lunch.
