AMAZING 5 Stars!!! – A Truly Special Experience at Santa Fe CafĂ© I don’t usually leave reviews, but I had to share what an amazing experience my sons and I had at Santa Fe CafĂ© in Calabasas. I came in with my two sons and our dog, and from the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. Victor, the owner, is absolutely incredible. He went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He made sure we were comfortable, checked in on us personally, and treated us with such kindness—it honestly felt like we were guests in his own home. That kind of hospitality is so rare, and it meant the world to us. He said we reminded him of when his kids were little and misses those days. And the food? Wow. This is hands down the best Mexican food I’ve ever had in my life. Every bite was full of flavor and clearly made with love. You can taste the care and tradition in each dish, and everything was so fresh and delicious. The whole experience was just warm, welcoming, and full of joy. My boys were happy, our dog was treated like part of the crew, and I left full of happiness (and my stomach too!). Thank you, Victor, for creating such a special place. We will absolutely be back, again and again. Santa Fe CafĂ© truly feels like home. -Chris

My picky kids and I love Santa Fe CafĂ©. It’s one of those true hole-in-the-wall spots that somehow ended up in Agoura/Calabasas like it got lost on its way to East LA—and I mean that in the best way possible. This place is the definition of a mom-and-pop joint. Victor (the owner) and his wife aren’t just running a restaurant—they’re living their passion. You’ll feel it the second you walk in
and again when you leave on a first-name basis. The vibe is old-school and unapologetically nostalgic. The food? Legit Mexican. No trendy fusion nonsense, just real-deal comfort food that actually tastes like someone’s abuelita made it. The chilaquiles are a must, and surprisingly, the kids menu is solid enough to keep even my food critics-in-training happy. Bonus: They throw a great Cinco de Mayo party with live mariachi—good times, zero pretension. Parking is always easy (a miracle in LA county), and your food comes out hot and fast, just how it should be. Hidden gem status: confirmed. Big shoutout to Victor for keeping it real.

Great nostalgic restaurant with great food. This place has been around since 1992 and I hadn’t been since the late 1990’s. I went back in June of 2024 so it was a nice travel back in time for me. Great grande chicken burrito with more chicken than you get in a popular chain burrito 🌯 place. Chips good too made fresh. Cute decor with indoor/outdoor seating, free iced water, and a discount for using cash. Skip the chain Mexican food places and try it.

Terrific local place for quality Mexican food. Fresh ingredients and friendly service. Pam has owned this place a long time and has really instilled a tradition of quality in all of her employees. Very friendly service too! Go in for a great breakfast burrito. If they have the ingredients, they will definitely "make it your way". My favorite is a pretty healthy breakfast burrito: Egg whites, black beans, cabbage, onions, cilantro and avocado. The owner Pam should call this the Steve Burrito! Or the Esteban Burrito. Either way, do yourself and visit this great local restaurant. To make it even better, you can get the best coffee in the area 30 feet away at Cafe...
