Extremely rude and carefree. My wife, who is Deaf, and I came in and attempted to order drinks and dinner. The waiter was in a hurry and did not seem to care about our questions pertaining to the menu and if they had something we did not find. We were told that a combination meal with a shrimp enchalada was the same as other one-item combinations but just made with shimp instead of beef or something else. I saw the prices for one item combo dinners which seemed acceptable. That's NOT what we were charged for. It ended up being the same price as the three item combo - more about that later. We asked for mild salsa but it took reminding them twice to get it. The small margarita my wife ordered tasted very weak, although my large margerita was barely acceptable. When the waiter finally came back and asked how our margeritas were, we told him that my wife's was extremely weak. He said he could bring a shot of tequila but that we would be charged extra. I insisted upon a completely new margarita made correctly. The taco and enchiladas were extremely hard - enough to jab the roof of my mouth! The supposedly mild salsa gave my wife severe acid reflux. Before the new margarita came she required another drink of the bogus margarita to cool her mouth. She is highly susceptible to spicy hot food and it is a medical condition. The service, which included the interrupting owner speaking in Spanish even though she could hear that she was surrounded by English speakers, were extremely rude. When I questioned the $38 charge for two mediocre margeritas, and asked for a price list, we were met by the most rude attitudes imaginable from the owner, the waiter, and two others I assume were possibly another waiter and maybe a bar tender. The owner then had the audacity to suggest that, next time, my wife report something she doesn't like immediately, before it is consumed. We tried that, and would have been fine with the water and lemon had we actually got it in time. My wife had two small sips of mere botched margarita, one to try it and another to cool her mouth from the hot salsa, and I tried one sip to find that I agreed with her assessment that the margarita was botched. If you don't want an honest opinion from paying customers, don't ask. Nevertheless it was hardly touched. In other words THEY were making a scene, so I returned their attitude verbally in true Marine Corps fashion, then I insisted upon an itemized bill of charges which matched the items on the menu, which we have a right to, or that we would not pay for prices not listed. We were then told that they did not have such a list for the bar, and that we would not be charged, but to never come back. She actually thought we might be back? Hilarious. As an honorably discharched veteran of the United States Marine Corps, I found this completely disrespectful to be treated like that by people who do not in my opinion even speak English to each other in front of us when they obviously know how, and then to be given an ultimatum to pay a ridiculous price for something with no listed price, or don't pay and never come back. THAT is culturally insensitive at best, and extremely rude and disrespectful at worst. I verbally flew off the handle at these unprofessional tactics. We left. Think twice about these people who did not seem to appreciate our business. That will be all....

Even if you don't spend much time in California City, if you're in the surrounding area, you've surely heard of Gloria's - most likely those generous margarita pours, right?

The rumors are true. But that's not all that Gloria's has to be proud of. Most people will also tell you that you'll know everything you need to know about a Mexican Restaurant based on their Chips and Salsa. If THAT holds true, then Gloria's really isn't just about the drinks.

All 7 times in the past 3 months that I've been here, the Steak Fajita Burrito has, far and away, been my favorite dinner in the area. The meat is tender, the vegetables are cooked perfectly, it's seasoned just right, the Burrito is heated perfectly, and the temperature of the dish hits your taste buds just right.

The service is friendly and funny, cracking jokes at your expense if you have the skin to laugh at yourselves, and overall just a really inviting and friendly experience.

The atmosphere is pretty traditional, and what you might expect, but still very cozy.

Gloria's is easily a place to revisit time and time again.

So if you want a margarita - That'll knock you down, Head to Gloria's bar - They'll pour...

We went to celebrate a friend of ours, The food took a little while to prepare I figured because it was going to be fresh I ordered a couple items off à la carte and a water. Everyone else ordered plates sodas. Unfortunately the restrooms were not the greatest The men's restroom toilet was extremely loose The women's restroom did not have any paper towels. Once we got our order I took a bite out of my food and it was kind of cold and hard We asked to have it remade they took it to the back what I assume is they microwaved it Even though it was hot in the cheese was melted now the cheese was gummy and very chewy after one bite I could not eat the rest I waited for me and one other person to get refills for our drink for around 30 minutes at which point we had to ask. Upon leaving one of my friends informed me that they normally go to this place to eat and that it was the worst experience that they have had there. I know that I've ordered to go from this restaurant once before and the food was amazing but I'm not sure if I would ever...

I heard this was the best place in town, food was average for a Mexican restaurant, somewhat bland, the beef tamale was not edible it was very grainy, dry and had left a greasy texture in my mouth, parts of it were hard. I'm assuming it was previously frozen and over microwaved. The chicken enchilada was bland, found a few small bones in it also. We went to eat on a very hot day so I wouldn't have to cook at home but there was no AC in the restaurant only fans so I was pretty uncomfortable in there. Food came pretty quickly, service was ok. I don't plan on returning.

This place is worth going back for. Wow! So we took our order to go… and usually to go orders are cold and lacks the same detail as in person dining. Chicken suiza enchilada was the best I’ve ever had. Asada tacos were great too. Homemade tortillas are the best. Can’t wait to go back and try the guac and chips & one of those fishbowl margaritas! We will be back in the area in a few weeks or so and we will definitely be eating here.. keep up the good work!
