My wife and I moved to the AV almost four years ago and had been trying different and all types of food trucks and restaurants and unfortunately we just couldn't find a place that could satisfy two of our food favorites one day we were driving back from the store on Ave N just past the freeway heading west and my wife saw the Lulu's tamales truck and asked if we could stop and check it out I was a bit skeptical about trying it because I was already disappointed at many other Méxican places in the AV. The next day Sunday morning she wanted to go and buy some more and discovered that they also sell menudo. I decided to try the menudo and also was pleasantly surprised because the clean the menudo really well meaning it doesn't have a lot of fat it isn't sticky and it has good flavor. The only downside I found is the tortillas they give you they are nice and warm but they have smelled spoiled in already three different occasions but if you could do without the tortillas then it is worth the 20 to 30 minute wait. I will continue to go here until I either find something better or they change their...

Read moreOK now if you want some great tamales this is the place to go. I just need to add that I lived in Gardena all my life and have had my share of tamales. Moved to the high desert and sadly the best Mexican food in Barstow is Taco Bell. I was dropping off a pup at Smiths Kennels and seen the tamale truck so I got excited, called my husband and told him I was going to stop and but some. I was a bit leary oh but I'm so very thankful I stopped. This is almost 2 hours from where I live but I will be going back at least 2 times a month to get them. Hands downs best tamales...
