Mavericks Pizza — Restaurant in California

I read the reviews, gave it a try, and it did not disappoint. The lady that took our order was really nice and helpful with recommendations. Her daughter was making the pizzas in the back and it really gave the feels of a family business. We ended up going with 2 large pizzas- 1 was half combo, half white chicken garlic, the other was half cheese, half Hawaiian. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The crust was really good, not too thick or thin and had a nice little crunch. A couple mentions... white chicken garlic is my fave but I had a place where I used to live that I loved and it's hard to find something comparable. While this was good, I felt like it was missing something. Next time I go, I will ask to add onions and tomatoes, and that might just be it. Now, on the other hand- the Hawaiian pizza was fire 🔥! My kids don't normally eat Hawaiian but this one disappeared quickly. There were bacon bits on the top that just sent this over the edge, and actually I added those bacon bits to my white chicken garlic and that was a hit too. Pricing for everything was reasonable too. Anyway, I will definitely be back. Sorry i was late taking pics again... gotta get better about that. Lol. (The combo didn't even make the pics and the white chicken garlic has some olives...

First time trying Maverick's Pizza. I had seen some good Yelp reviews and decided to give it a try. We ordered a large specialty pizza (16 inches) half pepperoni half Mav's Hawaiian. We also ordered the rib tips with bbq sauce on the side. The pizza was very good. The pepperoni side was considerably more greasy than the Hawaiian, so it wasn't as crispy. Next time I would probably ask them to transfer the pizza a few times to get rid of the excess grease. The rib tips were very meaty and cooked well, a great deal for $7.50. They have a lot of different sides, including mozzarella sticks, meatballs, and cheesy bread. It is a very small parlor with only a few tables, so I would opt for takeout unless you are popping in by yourself for a quick meal. The girl helping the counter was very nice, and our pizza came out very quickly. I will definitely be back to try some different...

Mavericks, your Family Dinner special is too good a value for the price. Please raise your prices or cut back on the sides, salads and deserts so you can give yourselves an annual raise! LOL seriously this place found the sweet spot for a neighborhood pizzeria: they don't stock bad products to push up profit margins, instead they leverage careful preparation and good taste to make the most of a product that everyone knows doesn't cost a lot to make well. I have to believe Mavericks are literally passing the savings on to us, a part of Manteca famished for decent pizza. They have homemade Christmas decorations in the dining room, with adorable felt chair covers and poinsettia flower-patterned oilcloth table and counter covers, absolutely charming! Meatballs are great and the churro donuts were an unexpected sensation. Please stay on Louise...
