Mexicali Bar & Grill — Restaurant in California

I was passing through California on a Sunday from The Pickle in Jamestown and was going to the buffet at Burger Haus, but it was graduation day and they weren't open. I had rode my motorcycle by Mexicali on the way into town and smelled some beef cooking. 👀

When I couldn't get the buffet I went back to see how busy they were, then went in to try this place. We went out to the deck to be seated under an umbrella, which was nice, and ordered drinks and got chips. The water didn't taste good, and my Pepsi didn't taste right. I told him about it and he said they just changed the syrup, so he would get me a new one. That one was fine. We ordered a burrito and boneless winds with waffle fries. The burrito was so full of rice with very little else in it, and no condiments it said it had with it. The mango habenero wings were pretty good, very crispy. The waffle fries were the star of the meal. Very crisp, hot and tasty! All in all I'd probably stop for some bar food like wings and such, but probably wouldn't order anything from the Mexican menu. All I can say is whatever you do do not order any kind of nachos to go because they don't leave your chips separate from the topping to where it just becomes one mushy, inedible, and cold entree. Not to mention the waste of money. Also I guess any of their appetizers or at least the helping a poppers don't come with any kind of dipping sauce whatsoever. They were also cold ordering takeout.
