Read moreAfter a day at the Safari Park, we made a reservation at Mia Marie Winery, and the setting was absolutely stunning. Perched on top of a hill, the winery overlooks a gorgeous valley with mountain views, and they had live music, which added to the ambiance.
Our group of six did a wine tasting, which was reasonably priced at $25 for five tastings. It was nice that they offered non-alcoholic options for me since I’m pregnant, and they even served it in a wine glass, which made me feel like part of the experience.
That said, the service could have been better. The first glass was poured by the server. Instead of pouring the rest of the 4 glasses for us, they brought out 4 a single glasses with the other wines (to be shared between four people, and we had to pour our own wine). It felt a bit stressful to divide it evenly, and it would have been more enjoyable if the staff handled the pours—both to ensure accuracy and to keep the wine fresh instead of sitting and warming up. We would finish one and then go onto the next. It also lacked the usual experience of a tasting, where they pour one by one and explained each wine in the moment. We asked her if she could explain what we were drinking. She was really sweet after that and truly not that big of a deal but was just an odd thing.
It may have been because we were there at the end of the day. Despite that, the views were incredible, and the wine selection was solid, with most of the wines being quite nice. I would consider going back, but I’d really prefer if they adjusted their tasting process to be more guided and interactive rather than self-serve.
Overall, a beautiful location with great potential, but I hope they refine the...
Read moreThis place was beautiful but needs to do better with crowd control. They cater to very large parties not regular customers. Unless you are a party of 12+ you will hate this place.
They do not charge extra for large parties in order to fill seats and be crowded. The large parties take over the common areas and they sit you in the middle of all these big parties so you definitely feel like you're in someone else's corporate team building function or family reunion. Staff do not look after the space you barely see your server.
Very uncomfortable and terrible atmosphere. Completely distracts from the views and environment. These large parties grab chairs and tables that other paying guests can use and make their own "private" mega space. It makes the whole area look messy and shabby for everyone else and the staff allow it.
Kids are running around with no supervision the staff doesnt care or pay attention. And the winery doesnt care enough to prepare enough food. When we were there the 3rd party pizza vendor ran out of pizzas early bc all the large parties ordered so much!!
These large parties should get their own catering and PRIVATE space and be charged separately instead of taking over the whole place.
Running out of food after booking several large events is a terrible rookie business practice and shows how little the winery cares about all of its customers.
Again their focus is on large corporate events and family reunions so they can make money, everyone else is an afterthought. I did not enjoy my experience at all and will not return.
This place is an event hall...
