Mike's Backyard BBQ @ Garlic World — Restaurant in California

We decided to stop here after hearing great things and reading some positive reviews, and we're glad we did. We've passed by this place countless times before, but now I’ll never forget the experience. My wife and I were both happily surprised by the food. We had ribs, chicken and pulled pork sandwiches—and everything was incredible. The sandwiches were delicious, but the ribs were something else. They practically fell off the bone with every bite.

What really made the experience special, though, was Mike and his wife. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel like we were family. It’s rare to find a place where you not only love the food but also feel so welcomed. Honestly, even without the amazing food, we’d return just to enjoy their kindness.

My pregnant wife is super indecisive when it comes to food, after a TikTok search she found this place right by the freeway and we never been so happy with food like today, we ordered the 1/2 rack (6 ribs) and it comes with complementary beans and garlic bread. The service was amazing, the ambience is so welcoming, lots of options for peanuts olives garlic, candy and everything you can think of in the store where the Mike’s BBQ is located inside. This is a perfect pitstop when driving by with cooling AC and a nice view of the mountains around gilroy. I’ll leave pictures next time we stop by since we couldn’t wait to eat it when our order was ready minutes after we ordered. 10/10 will try again. Thank you staff & Mikes...

This is a must stop. The owners are the nicest people and the BBQ is so good you don't even need sauce to go with it...but Mike has his own BBQ sauces which were SOOOOO goooood.

We tried his large family meal with an add of trip tip to sample everything. His ribs and tri tip are at the top of my best bbq tasted ever (and we eat a lot of bbq). So glad we found this amazing place and it will become a routine stop for us on our way to monterey...
