I wasn't satisfied 100 % but I will come back!
This is the first time I visited this cafe. It was around 8:30 in the morning and there were already some people waiting for orders in the cafe.
There were some pastries in the showcase and I asked the staff if they are all the bakeries they had and she said yes so I ordered two croissants. (One with bacon, one with jalapeno). I also ordered a hot latte. Later on I found out they had other foods menu as sandwiches. I wish the staff told me when I asked. I would have ordered sandwiches instead of two croissants.
I waited for a while and two croissants came out first. I kept them and waited but it took a while till I got my latte. Croissants became not too warm because of the wait. I wish they served bakeries and drink at the same time. I could see there were some people who had online orders so the staff was busy making drinks, but I really hope it gets improved so I didn't have to wait that way.
The latte flavor was very good but I felt it wasn't hot enough. I just saw a lady who was waiting for her muffin and her drink. She also got her muffin first and had to wait for her drink. She was also asking the staff to re-heat her muffin and make her coffee extra hot after she received her order, so I found out that I wasn't the only one who felt the way I did.
The atmosphere of the cafe was very nice and staffs were very nice which I loved. Just the cafe inside was so cold. I came to the cafe to feel warm but my body felt icy cold and couldn't enjoy the food and coffee fully. I also worry for stuffs if they won't catch a cold working in this cold room. I hope the environment will be improved both for customers and workers.
Even though I wasn't fully satisfied for the first visit, I would love to come back and try their different drinks and bakeries because I want to support local business. Thank you for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've become hooked on their Vietnamese coffee even though I know they have several other really good drinks. My husband really likes the Monkey Mocha (chocolate & banana) which is available hot, iced or blended(his favorite way š). Be sure to check out the cookies, which are thick and chewy and are so good that they go fast. They also have a full display case of assorted sweet and savory pastries. I really love the ham and cheese croissant which is good sized and tastes really fresh. They'll even add fresh cooked eggs if you'd like them.
I won't say the atmosphere is exactly cozy since there are large plate glass windows and lots of natural light, but there is a nice assortment of small and one really large table, as well as two different soft seating groups on opposite sides of the shop. One of these is adjacent to a faux fireplace which is nice now but was REALLY nice during cooler weather. It's a nice place to spend a couple of hours, well worth the drive across town.
It's hiding in a little shopping center on the North side of EG Bl at Harbor Point Dr. If you miss the driveway just past the gas station on the corner, you don't have any choice but to get on the 5 Freeway North and go all the way to Laguna Bl before you get off. If this happens to you, don't panic, just stay toward the right and make a Right turn on Harbor Point ant it will eventually take you back to EG Bl. If you don't want to risk it, you can take EG Bl West, make a Right on Harbor Point (or EG Bl East and turn Left on Harbor Point) and then a Left at the stop sign and then a left into the back of the hotel. When you hit the end, turn left, and when you see the car wash for the gas station, turn right, and the parking will be on your Right. These are all really short distances for the turns so when you see it it will all make sense.
Trust me.... it's...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo I've been coming to Rescate for a pretty long time about 2 years. It was my favorite local spot even though their coffee wasn't the best. A lot of times it was too sweet or too syrupy or didnt taste like the flavor it should (especially the honey bear latte). Regardless I thought the atmosphere was good and the people friendly. However, when I decided to go today I was treated very rudely by one of the baristas. I had preordered online about 30 minutes before and received an email that my order was ready. Since there were about 4 people near the cash register, I waited outside until 2 of them had moved out. Since the ladies in front of me hadn't preordered and were trying to decide what they wanted, I was going to ask one of the baristas if my order was ready since I didnt want to wait 10 minutes for them to decide as my order was going to get cold. I literally saw my order sitting there but as I was about to move over and double check with the barista, another barista yelled at me for not waiting in line. I explained that I had preordered and was going to ask the other person if my order was ready when he rudely interrupted and said I still had to wait in line. I didnt understand why I would have to wait to get to the front of the line to even ask but I went to the back anyway. One of the much nicer lady barista asked my name and said that my order was ready and I could pick it up at the table. So finally done going back and forth I was allowed to retrieve my order on the table after a long time waiting. I dont understand how it's hard not to be so rude to your customers and yelling at them to get back in line as if their wasn't a legitimate reason. Overall, I dont want to support somewhere that's fine with humiliating...
