After nearly 10 years since my last visit, I decided to stop by Rustic at Francis Ford Coppola Winery for an early dinner during a road trip. Unfortunately, while the food was just as delicious as I remembered, the overall experience left much to be desired. The Good – The Food: - Marinara Pizza: Absolutely fantastic, just as I remembered. The plum, juicy tomatoes were the star of the dish. - Daily Specials: We ordered the meatballs with pasta and the salmon, both of which were flavorful and cooked to perfection. Zero complaints on food quality—it was a solid 5/5 in this regard. The Not-So-Good – Cleanliness and Service: Upon being seated, I immediately noticed food debris scattered on the floor around our booth. It’s hard to enjoy the ambiance of a winery restaurant with a lack of basic cleanliness. Service, unfortunately, was the biggest letdown. Our waiter seemed disengaged and, quite frankly, unprofessional. While it’s understandable that wineries often have a relaxed vibe, I found her inattentiveness unacceptable. She would walk by, speak loudly without actually engaging or listening, and then leave mid-conversation. It felt as though she wasn’t fully present, which really detracted from the dining experience. Final Thoughts: While the food remains a highlight, Rustic seems to have slipped in terms of management, cleanliness, and service. The lack of attentiveness and professionalism was disappointing, and the absence of a visible manager to address these issues makes me question the oversight of the restaurant. Sadly, this visit didn’t live up to the memories I had of Rustic from years ago. While I’m grateful for the great food, I’m not sure I’ll be returning anytime soon—if at all. Rating Breakdown: - Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5 - Service: ⭐ 1/5 - Cleanliness/Ambiance: ⭐⭐ 2/5 Here’s hoping the team steps up to bring this place back to its former glory.

They have completely lost the plot. Used to be a favorite restaurant of ours until our final visit on July 24, 2022. Server knowingly brought me the incorrect wine from what I had specifically ordered and declined to show me the label or check in with me prior to pouring. After calling him back once I’d seen the label, initial response was ‘Surely you don’t expect us to reprint the menu every time the wines change’ and then switched to ‘I brought you a Reserve Cab so what’s the issue’ the fact I chose the Stuhlmuller vineyard (rather than the Battle family which was poured), I clearly received the ignorant tourist treatment. While I might expect that from the odd restaurant, I would never expect it from a Vineyard serving their own wines. Food was ok however bread rolls were only provided on request whereas usually, these are delivered warm to the table early on and are a key favorite/draw. While you can throw all the money you like at buying an asset, if you lose the inherent experience, you’ll lose your investment in the end, mark my words…

We were so looking forward to our visit to Coppola's. We loved the winery and were met with genuine, fun staff whom gave us not only a wonderful tasting but much interesting information and lots of laughs as well. We then played bocce and delighted the pool bar staff by playing credit card roulette with our bar bill. Three couples who enjoy each other and enjoy meeting people so why were we treated as distant unwanted cousins to Uncles dinner at Rustic's ? Rewind to making reservations on open table: never did I see, nor was I told that on Tuesday nights is family style dining for set price. That being said we were overheard the hostess telling someone over the phone that was the case. Our hostess did not utter a word about it but we asked our waitress and she confirmed this to be the case. We were not told ahead of time what food to expect other than uncle somebody thought it was thanksgiving so go along with it. Uncle never came to our table nor did all the entrees we saw our neighbors receiving. A ravioli dish never made it our way nor did the pumpkin pie. Not sure how the concept works but know it did not work for us. While our waitress whom was very pregnant was nice she also seemed to play hostess and if course waited on other tables so we were not a priority. As well as the fact that 18% gratuity is added in to parties of 6 or more so even if we were not a priority why would she care. Half way thru our experience the restaurant got very busy and perhaps a higher profile clientele came in but that being said, a good, well run restaurant would not allow the common folk to feel that. Sorry to say we very much felt that way. I'm not sure I would recommend going out of your way to visit this establishment!

Such a beautiful setting for an outside meal. I came here with 2 good friends on a gorgeous day. We are all from the area and have heard good things about Rustic so we thought we'd try it out for ourselves. Sunglasses in hand we were all set for our reservation(Yes, I recommend one) and hoping for a table outside. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful in it's own way but the scenery surrounding us is what we came to bask in. Luckily a table was waiting for us outside on the patio. The inside of the winery is tremendously alluring but the Coppola aspect of it all can be a bit cheesy when you've been accustomed to the wine country all your life. Yes, I like his films but I don't need it displayed while tasting wine - distraction.

The food was spectacular and the Sofia Rose with our food was the perfect pairing on a warm day. The Chicken Mattone is one of Francis's favorites and rightfully so. Tender pieces of chicken practically falling off the bone cooked in a lemon and herb dressing. Well worth the $24 price. I tried to recreate it at home, and even though I feel like my dish was well prepared, I just couldn't beat that setting.

Go and enjoy some wonderful food/wine pairings or simply go for the open pool with private rent-able villas while checking out the...
