This review is about 6 weeks late, but I’m visiting again soon and remembered that I still want to put my feelings down!
My sister, friend and I visited the Coppola Winery for a relaxing Saturday by the pool and had the absolute loveliest time. I didn’t get to visit the winery in 2024, so I was very excited to return this year. We got SO LUCKY and had the sweetest, friendliest server for the day named… (I hope I’m getting this right, I’m not great at remembering names, but I THINK it was Gwen, short for a longer super cute name) I don’t think it is possible to have a bad day at the Coppola pool, but Gwen’s positive vibes radiated and made the day above and beyond great.
If you haven’t visited before, the grounds are just so serene, the pool area is always clean and inviting, and the staff is just a wonderful group of people. From the moment you check in, every human you encounter is kind and welcoming. I have trouble sitting still so I wandered off to the actual bar and ordered a drink there, and the friendly man behind the bar made me laugh and poured a killer pińa colada 😊
Due to the above and beyond experience I had on this past trip, I ended up becoming a member of the winery. Gwen was new to the team, so she brought out a very kind and knowledgeable guy named Dru (sp?), who answered my million questions about the membership without showing any annoyance whatsoever (lol). He was super nice and not pushy about joining at all, which I appreciated. I ended up joining the club and am so happy I did 💕
I recently had some questions about my upcoming visit, and I’m telling you, the people who work here are just absolute gems. Kaylee on the customer service team promptly responded to me and again, went above and beyond. This is the kind of customer service that makes me tell my wine loving friends that they need to visit the Coppola Winery, and also consider joining the club. I consider myself a people person, and these days, I feel like that trait is fading from customer service. But not at Coppola. They must be treating their team well, because happy people share the happiness, and that’s what’s...
Read more3 of us visited last week and found that everything was very clean and safety guidelines were held to a high standard. The surroundings are elegant and dramatic and the view from the patio we were seated on was stunning! Probably one of the best in the area. However, we weren't allowed to walk the several feet across the patio to take a picture of the view even though there was nobody else seated on the patio or near where we wanted to take a picture. We asked if there was an area we could get a good view for a picture and we were told to go out to the parking lot. What was even less impressive was the tasting itself. Our server was pleasant but very lacking in any depth or enthusiasm in his presentation and we felt very hurried through the experience. Only one glass was used for the entire flight, which doesn't bother me in the least, but I wasn't even done tasting one wine before he was back to pour the next one. The wines themselves were mediocre at best which was disappointing considering the price of the tasting and the lack of hospitality given. We were in and out in a half hour even though the reservation slot was for an hour so we were fairly underwhelmed to say the least. There was one gentleman working who was very kind on our way out and showed us the way to the restroom and also encouraged us to take a path around the parking lot out to the vineyard to take a picture. Not the same amazing view but still somewhat helpful. Overall, it was an OK experience, the beautiful building and landscape was this stops saving grace thus the 3 stars, but I doubt that I would go back considering we had much better experiences and wines at...
Read moreFollow the rules and you won’t see the other side of the staff. The side you don’t wanna see when out enjoying yourself in Sonoma. The staff at the check in area near the parking area was solid, they welcomed us, when we asked to go to the bathroom they guided us all the way to the area (would’ve been lost without them). The check in team upstairs was a 50/50, cashier, solid, host, disappointing. We asked if we could have the umbrella opened due to the sun, he said yes, that the server would open once she came around. Server came to us and then told us that we could not open the umbrella due to high winds, we were then disappointed because the host had set improper expectations. I would’ve thought the team would communicate better than that. All this kicked things off for us on a sour note, but we tried to make the best of it since we drove 70 miles to get there. The wines were solid and what we expected, light, but a variety of notes to them. Mid way through our tasting one other customer got up with out a mask on, the staff quickly came to address it, as they should have, we just wish that it was done in a manner that didn’t call so much attention to the matter, I felt bad for the customer that this happened to while everyone was staring when it all went down. We finished our wine fast as we could after. It just felt uncomfortable. If this is what we should expect, we will never go out of our way to visit again. We understand that everyone needs to follow the rules, but there were too many misses that we expect a recently opened business to have, not a established winery with trained staff. Guess our expectations were...
