Taqueria Los Pericos — Restaurant in California

I'm a bit mixed on writing this review because I want to support our local taqueria, Los Pericos. We live close & have eaten there several times with mixed results. Sometimes the chilli relleno burritos or good to eat, other times the chillis aren't fully cooked all the way. Then last week I ordered Vegetarian Nachos & it came with RICE all over it!!!! I was at home & too hungry to return it, but the next time I showed up I told them, and they were like "There's no rice on our nachos" while pointing to the menu, & I'm like "but there was rice all over my nachos!"

Ordered in restaurant a super burrito with no rice and no cheese. They said they were out of rice anyways so that wouldn’t be a problem. I got home expecting a nice hot burrito and realized my burrito was not hot and was dripping in the bag. No big deal but then when I bit into it I realized it had cheese AND rice - meaning it must have been made before they ran out of rice and they just gave it to me when I ordered a super burrito so they didn’t have to make mine to order? Despite me asking for no rice and no cheese!

Big bummer bc last time I got a carne asada burrito here it was...

One of the few eateries in relatively sparsely-populated Corralitos (where we stayed during the visit to the area). Decided to eat out here when we were too tired to cook for dinner. All of the dishes were fantastic and freshly-made - clearly the ingredients come from the locality. The price is more affordable than that in the downtown Watsonville or other cities in the area, mostly in low $10s or less. Appreciate the patio dining area and complimentary free flow salsa (which comes in lots of variety) and crispy nachos...
