The word on the grapevine was that The Coffee Shop had some unique items and offered a variety of coffee blends. So, I traveled to Winterhaven, California which sits on the border of Arizona.
The coffee shop was easy to find and there was tons of parking. I saw that they also had patio seating. We ordered a few cold brews and a drink called the "Pretty Palmer" an Arnold Palmer with a touch of raspberry. We also ordered two of the breakfast sandwiches.
I asked for their signature drink which was the "Cinnamon Cubano" the strength of the coffee was good and the cinnamon wasn't overpowering. According to my co-workers who tried the breakfast sandwiches. One said "I can't believe I ate the whole thing, it was delicious", the other gave me a Ronald McDonald smile and a thumbs up.
I have to point out that I absolutely loved the decor, they pay tribute to the indigenous people who called the Lower Colorado River home for thousands of year. One wall was dedicated to photographs of the Quechan Tribal Nation. They also sold books, jams, and of course coffee.
The young man that attended us was friendly, polite, and attentive. Over all this trip was well worth it, and I do plan on visiting them again in the...
Read moreI ordered the breakfast burrito, I thought it was a good size and quality ingredients, but it was pretty bland to me. You’re only given one little container of salsa, which I finished before I got halfway through the burrito. Compared to donut corral’s breakfast burrito that size you get 3 salsas. I think they definitely need to up the salsa to 2-3 minimum. I also think the ingredients needed some seasoning plus maybe a chipotle sauce or something to tie it together, because even the little bit of salsa I had wasn’t enough to make the flavors pop. Don’t get me wrong, it has potential, but it was a little disappointing, especially once the salsa was gone. It just tasted like a plain Jane avocado, egg, bacon, and potatoes, wrapped in a tortilla. Even some salt would have went a long way. C’mon guy, just a few little things will make an “okay” breakfast burrito great! Step it up and I’ll remove this and...
Read moreWhat a lovely little coffee shop! A friend and I stopped in with my toddler while I was in town visiting the Yuma, AZ area. We drove up to Winterhaven as I'd never been to California before. What a wonderful surprise we had coming here, as the staff was SO kind and friendly! The matcha latte was wonderful (this coming from someone who drinks matcha lattes almost daily, and knows the perfect amount of each ingredient to make it just right), my friend loved her coffee and my toddler enjoyed the yogurt parfait. The service was wonderful - the barista was so kind and friendly, and we chatted for quite some time. The whole atmosphere was inviting and friendly, if I'm ever back in the area, I will definitely...
