This place is super cool. We stopped in here last week after dinner next door and chatted it up with a lady who I assume is the owner. She was very nice and told us all about the place. This is a great little shop. They've obviously got ice cream, but there is all kinds of other cool stuff here from vintage candy and craft sodas to banana splits and shaved ice. They also make their own pies and have a mean cup of coffee. If you are in the area, you definitely have to pop in and show some love to this place. It's kind of hidden from the main road behind Dillon's burgers and beer. Dinner at Dillon's and dessert at Coyote Cone make for a good evening. Enjoy!

Friendly and helpful staff, good sized portions, and everything we tried was delicious! The employees pulled up each tub of ice cream I asked about so I could see the ingredient lists and find something gluten free. (They do scoop into cones as well as cups, so depending on your sensitivity to gluten or other allergens be aware of that.) I love that they have a mini cone. We should have gotten that for our littlest kids because they didn't finish their single scoop cones! They also serve milkshakes, sell desert souvenir t-shirts and vinyl stickers, sell bottled sodas and candy. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and a restroom inside.

Love the coyote cone ! This is a must on your way to and from Joshua tree. The date shake is the best I have found and it’s the only place with quality coffee in the area. (Don’t get me wrong I like a good cup of diner coffee sometimes) another plus is they are dog friendly, and the breakfast sandwiches have been added recently always hit the spot.

While vacationing in the Desert Hot Springs area, we happened upon this Ice Cream/Coffee shop. After visiting, I highly recommend stopping by if you are looking for a cool afternoon treat or a coffee beverage.

Upon walking in, The Coyote Cone has a charm all of its own that welcomes you in. There is a stationary section, a book section, and a wall to pay it forward for travelers in need. Pretty cool 😎. The ice cream is Thrifty, which personally I love as it takes me back to being a kid. My kids loved it too, getting very generous scoops on a cone and with a mix-in of their choosing on the cone too! There are at least 4 different cone types to chose from and more than a dozen different ice cream flavors. Note: they even have pre-scooped gluten-free, vegan flavors in cups to choose from as well. There was room for us to sit inside and enjoy our ice creams, which was nice. The seating area was clean and inviting.

While we didn't sample the coffee drinks, the menu showed that they serve a full range of coffee and espresso beverages. Something to look forward to on a return visit.

Last, I would commend the staff for the friendliness and service. Multiple members helped my family of four get sorted on our ice cream scoops and were attentive and warm.

Thank you Coyote Cone for being the ice cream oasis my family needed to recharge in the heat of the day in Morongo Valley. We look forward to a time when we can come...

Wow, where do I begin? This place is the real deal -- a good old fashioned ice cream shop serving up delicious hand-scooped ice cream by the friendliest , sweetest ladies you will ever meet. There are many flavors to choose from to create a number of shakes, malts and sundaes. If it's not on the menu, tell them what you have in mind because they will go out of their way to create it if they can. Everything is served up as a beautiful creation with a lot of love behind it. I recommend the banana boat or the hot fudge brownie sundae. Can't have dairy? Well, let's not forget the various flavors of shaved ice that's available. There will certainly be something for everyone. If you need something to wake you up after digesting all that creamy deliciousness, then take advantage of their coffee and espresso bar -- a full blown coffee shop. What more can you ask for? Finally, you will dig the decor. There are seats made up of real saddles that you can straddle as you doodle a drawing on the chalk board ahead of you. This little place is special and is by far my most favorite ice cream shop in all of the Coachella Valley and Morongo Basin. I keep coming back again and again and again...is there a Jenny...

My friend and I stopped in here yesterday. As I stepped through the door I took an unexpected deep breath. I felt like I had stepped into my childhood. It had the cozy feel of an old ice cream/candy store. The ice cream is limited to about 12 flavors, there was an area that had Razzles, Pixie Sticks, wax lips, Lemon Heads and other oldie (candies) to enjoy. There were also caramel apples that looked to die for, and different types of coffee. The lady running the show was very, very pleasant and appreciative of the customers and their chatter. Off to the side were some stools with saddles on them and on the wall were black and white photos of days gone by all of them focusing on people eating ice cream, of course, and each picture genuinely told a story. Before we left I ordered a strawberry malt with extra malt and my friend ordered a coconut pineapple shake, both were delicious. I brought home a caramel apple, I heard it was sensational. This place is a great date place, a great take the family out for a treat place, treat yourself to something wonderful after a rotten day at work place, a lets go to the Coyote Cone just because it’s fabulous and we’re fabulous people...
