Elio's Hot Dogs & Mexican Food — Restaurant in Calumet Township

This place has changed for the worse. Initially, it was one of the best places to purchase Mexican food especially tacos and rice. Now, I would not spend another cent here. Why? Yesterday, I ordered two chicken tacos on corn tortillas, and rice. The tacos were FLAVORLESS! The rice was overly salty.

This is NOT the first, second or third time the chicken tacos were flavorless. There were numerous times when their tacos were extremely juicy and delicious that I did the 'happy dance'. Now, it's WFT dance.

My son ordered beef tacos that were extremely salty that he threw them away.

Would I recommend Elio's? It's a 'no' for me and my family because we don't like overly...

Don't let the appearance fool you - if you want to pick up a fast, satisfying lunch at a very reasonable price, this is a secret gem. They have all the "hot dog joint" standards, as well as a wide selection of Mexican food. You can also take a dozen homemade tamales home with you.

Stopped for tacos yesterday and this place has seriously fell off. The meat is no longer seasoned like it use to be. The food was bland and the priced has increased.

I'm not sure if this place is under new management or if they have a new cook. But the old flavors that use to make me travel to this hole in the wall is no longer there.

I will no longer give my money to this place as there is nothing...
