Incredibly frustrating and sad experience today at the Flamingo. 9/25 3:30 PM
My wife and I live right down the street and have been to the Flamingo almost weekly since we moved to town 4 years ago. We go so much that we actually started keeping count. We’re at 163 visits. Every weird milestone we have, every friend and family in town moment — it’s “We’ll go to the Flamingo.”
Love the place. Love the food. And usually love the staff.
We’ve been out of town most of the late summer, returned and said “we should go to The Flamingo on the way home.”
My wallet was buried deep in the back of the car.
Walked in, sat down in the corner booth with stools and waited 10 minutes for a server to talk to us. Understandable — Bears game was wrapping up.
Server (who has waited on us easily 25 times) comes over and says “Hey. Let me see your ids!” Also fine. My wife is in her mid-30s and I’m older. Neither of us look young. I 100% look older than my wife.
My wife pulled out her wallet and showed ID. I said “Mine is buried out in the car. I don’t have it. But you’ve waited on us before, yes? And you recognize us, yes? We’re in here all the time.”
She was adamant I needed an ID. I’m old. I do not look underage. Whatsoever.
I said “I have a front and back scan on my phone from my passport application, does that work?”
Nope.
I asked “Do you remember serving me in the past?” “Yes.”
I asked “Did you ask me for ID in the past?” “No.”
I asked “Do you think I look underage?” “No.”
We left.
Really really left a bad taste in my mouth. Just not how you treat people in your community.
Our counter might stay at 163 visits.
Flamingo management: happy to talk...
Read moreMy family suffered the loss of a loved one. A relative and loyal Flamingo customer recommended the restaurant. The service was horrible and a complete embarrassment. We had family visiting from Mississippi, Arizona, and Milwaukee. We were also having a birthday celebration. After 2 hours of waiting for our order we were told they didn't have wraps, chili, or chicken for the nachos that was already placed on the table. We were given two plates of loaded nachos without meat. We ask for substitutes she said okay. Then the waitress became rude. She left to wait on other tables and my family received another rude person screaming at us about not being able to separate the bill. However we were told before we order that the bill could be separated. If you have large group, I do not recommend this restaurant. They are incapable, unprofessional, and lack customer skills. We didn't receive half our order. After the horrible treatment and another 40 minutes one of our guest received a pizza not fit to feed a dog, picture below. We didn't feel welcome. Several of us as first time customers and visitors from out of state will never patronize the Flamingo Pizza of Miller....
Read moreI would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. This restaurant was recommended to us so we went to give it a try. Now we know places are short staffed that we do understand. We arrived at 7:30 we got served water and drinks, then our waitress comes back and asked were we ready to order.. We ordered chicken nachos the nachos came out with no chicken. Ordered loaded nachos that came out with no chilli, a wrap to get told there were no wraps. 4 pizzas to get none of the pizzas. During the whole time we were patient and ordered other things to get nothing. 10:30 and still no food after the manager came out and told us thank you for being patient the pizzas are ready to go in the oven. Then she Bluntly with a attitude said everything going on one check because it’s to much to separate..That should have been told from the beginning..Now why we were being told they ran out of things we watching everyone around us being served food with veggies and nicely served pizza. Now as I stated we sat there for 3 hours waiting because we was enjoying the establishment to get treated like we wasn’t there.Please...
