Harold's Chicken Shack — Restaurant in Calumet Township

Called in a order for pickup lunch special with an drink that I was willing to pay extra for. I had my niece to pick it up for me, she decided to order her some food and paid for both orders. She let them know she was waiting on the first order to bring to me and they didn't give it to her until her food was done,20 min later. I have cold food, no drink and a attitude at this point. I called and spoke politely and explained the situation I was told it wasn't their fault, and i couldn't get the lunch special because she came in after 2 to pick it up, mind you it takes 20 min plus to get the food, and my niece said they all had attitude when she walked in. It's really sad that you can't get customer service from your own kind, we all talk about not supporting our own when you try to support we get treated and looked on as if we're nothing. Come on 4 wings and fries with a drink, so in the end I was told that I couldn't get hot food nor could I get refund. The manager was going to call me in 20 min...... still waiting. So yeah they just lost a loyal customer over $5.10 which is more than the lunch special supposed to be. Gotta head back to the city BIBB needs to be called on them for the way the treat people it's not right, if you don't like your job go get...

Love everyone there but the older cook He is very rude and arrogant, and feels entitled! My order was incorrect and i was polite and patient i asked the workers if i could just get fresh fries since i had to wait 25 minutes to get my correct order That i still have the receipt for They told me yes but yet The cook refused to give me fresh fries like if that's something that takes so long as he was cursing and being very rude I don't have his name but i will be there tomorrow to find it out All i asked for was an apology and he refused to give me one and that's fine I hope they find a better and more patient cook because this business is something i love to support but i would give my money if that man or man child is there I am a friendly and happy person and for someone to get me out of character speaks volumes on them

Update after being told after this review i would get a free meal i waited My children insisted and i finally broke to call and order it The people claimed they remembered me and when i walk in they only gave me free fries and wanted to charge me for chicken Honestly a slap in the face And the manager was there I rather drive to chicago for it and...

Don't call in your order, they will tell you 20 minutes, but won't start cooking it until you get there and pay. Which would take 20 minutes. 🙄. They won't tell you that .. if you want a refund because they didn't have it ready , when they say it would be, they won't do that either. Just go in order and then go wait in your car, because you can't wait inside the building. O and they will call you when your order is ready ,Maybe. This review is not based off of a 1 time thing. This is based of of 5 different times. And that was the last time for me. .just know what to expect when going there:::::: UPDATE::::::: they really really did change things around. Feb 9 2025. Been there a few times and I can say it's way better. They do take your order over the phone, don't know how long that's going to last, but please take advantage of that if you can.
