We decided to eat here about a month after opening. I was so excited only to be disappointed as we left. I ordered the stake tips and a side of green beans while my partner ordered the chicken strips, sessioned frys, and a side of macaroni and cheese. Our server Mia (no name tags but she was warning a name necklace) was very cheerful and helpful however we had to ask for our silverware after our food came out. The food was very mediocre. I wasn't expecting a 5 star dinner however I was hoping that 75% of our food wasn't pre packaged. The chicken strips had no flavor and was cold in the center. The sessioned fries would fine from a bag if there was some kind of flavor. The macaroni was white cheddar you can find at a lot of restaurants, I however don't think white cheese is what you think of with southern food. The beef tips were the special of the day. I was not asked or had the chance to say how I wanted my steak cooked and it came out medium even though I wanted well done. They were good and happily I have no complaints for the beef tips other than the amount of onions but that could be a personal problem. The green beans weren't any surprise, green beans from a can whatever. I going to say I really hope that I came in on a bad day or maybe right after a rush, I'm not sure because I've hear friends say it's amazing food. I'm giving 2 stars. One for the hope it stays and improves. And 1 for the personality that the staff has. Keep your heads but and I hope this restaurant can make the much needed improvement for it to become all...
Read moreNot impressed, The food was not anything special, not much flavor. We ordered sweet Tea and it was basically sugar water. We were offered no appetizers, and we waited over an hour on food. Food was auctioned off at the table, meat was not the correct temp we ordered (I even asked what color THEIR medium rare was just to be sure) Table behind us walked out after getting their food, took two bites and they left. Couple beside us said that they had also been waiting over an hour for their food. We saw numerous ppl run in and out of the kitchen so don't believe it was a staffing issue. Wrong sides were given when we did get our food. Our glasses were mixed up after waitress saw the tea was not drinkable. Nothing given for inconvenience of time, lack of condements or the macaroni found mixed in with collard greens. Waitress was nice but not well versed with menu knowledge or proper manners while taking care of guests.
I have worked in restaurants most of my life, I can say this place has a lot of things to improve on. $148.00 for 4 people. That is outrageous. Pro tip: with a name such as "Southern fried and sweet tea" start with getting those two things right. Should call "sugar water with a microwave meal". We will...
Read moreWe ate at this delightful restaurant on Saturday 10/14/23. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waiter went over the menu and the food came out quickly.
My husband ordered the smash burger and white beans for the side. His burger was tasty with pepper Jack cheese. The white beans were AMAZING! They were well cooked with a smoky finish and a touch of heat. We plan on returning and ordering a big bowl of those beans with hush puppies. I ordered the grilled chicken salad. The chicken was well seasoned and large. All the lettuce was fresh and the tomatoes were great. It was a simple salad (no croutons and lots of additions) but it didn’t need it. I was so full.
We ordered a piece of carrot cake to go. The cake was so moist and fluffy with a wonderful spice to it. The cream cheese icing was amazing! We enjoyed it so much we returned the next day and took a couple of pieces home!
Our waiter was so friendly and on top of things. He was there the next morning when we came back for cake and was still so courteous. This young man is an attribute for the restaurant for sure! If you want a great meal and even better dessert, I highly recommend. We plan on coming back in December and will...
