Flat Fish Brewing Company — Restaurant in Camarillo

You can tell straight away that this brewery is under the radar. On a Friday night there wasn’t many people, and those that were there knew the owners and knew the band members that were performing. Their IPA’s taste pretty good, I liked them.

However, you would think that a place called Flatfish brewing co, would sell some actual seafood. Not the case, only item closest was their shrimp cocktail. For $15 I got like 5 shrimp which was pretty subpar. The rest of their food items seemed to me the type of food you would get at a family picnic - their plastic tables and chairs at the place just makes you feel like you are at a family event.

Overall the beer was good, live music was good, but they need to step up their food (Flatfish=no seafood?) game a bit as well as their decor. Otherwise it gives a family venue vibe more than a winery or...

Great beer, I highly recommend the artichoke dip. Nice atmosphere, not overly crowded like Institution can get. They have food trucks and live music on Saturdays. They also have karaoke on Thursdays. They share the space with Cantara Cellars which is owned by the same people so the wine drinkers in your group also have options. They have a number of board games available and some children’s toys as they are a child friendly environment. Street parking and ample parking available in the parking lot. We met Chris and Mike when we stopped in for a beer. My friend and I are avid brewery goers and had to try this place since we had never been. Right when we walked in we were greeted with a smile and familial vibe. Since we like IPAs, we wanted to try what they had. Immediately, Deb was quick to get us a splash of all 3 of the IPAs they had. After selecting the Long Drift, Chris was kind enough to show us around the whole facility. After meeting Mike and making our way back to the tasting room, we enjoyed great conversation with great locally grown business owners that deserve all of your support and more.
