We made reservations over a month in advance. We were one of the first groups there on mother's day, my wife and I and our two kids. Upon check in I informed the host we had made a reservation for 6 but 2 where unfortunately not going to make it. She then walked us to the back of the restaurant, gave us the smallest table in the place that had no view. We asked if we could please have a window seat or a table on the other side of the wall. She said that in 20 minutes it will be very full and we would need to stick with a small table. She then said that we could have the table that was next to that one which was very tall and would not work with a high chair. This all put a very bad taste in our mouth for the rest of the time. My wife was so upset that she didn't even order any of there over priced food. We have eaten here several times including last mothers day. As we struggled to keep my sons hands off of everything on the tiny table we watch them set groups of 4 at the larger tables next to the windows. Not one group was put next to us in the back behind the wall. Just as we were finishing up they walked a group of 3 to another small table in the back. Husband and wife with a young child. As we were walking out there were still several window seats available. Thanks Hickory for making mothers day...
Read moreI have been here 5 times in the last 3 years. The 4th time someone I was with said they got food poisoning from their meal. I still decided to go back again this time. It was great when I first started coming, and has gone down hill. The water glasses had lipstick all over and we asked to get replaced. The service was polite and professional but very slow for only about 8 tables filled. Golfer bros a couple tables down yelling at their table about who they hook up with.
The food was over salted. And they charge +$10 for a cold 6oz piece of chicken to be added to a salad. I’ve never seen $10 up charges for grilled and refrigerated chicken in my life, and this isn’t stated on the menu so we were shocked with the bill.
I asked to talk to the manager because of the dirty glasses, crazy price hikes on chicken and booze, and unsatisfactory food and service. The nice waitress came back and said the manager refused to come over. All I could do was ask what the managers name was so I could write it here; Tori.
I used to manage restaurants. If a guest wants to chat about something, just go and hear them out. Because of this manager’s inability to care about our experience, and all the problems we had, I will not be coming back here again even though I live 6 min away. Sad to see this...
Read moreWe brought our mom and dad here on Memorial day. Chose this place for several reasons - one of the very few places opened on this day, good reviews and photos of food looked good.
We sat outside with a view on to the golf course and ordered the following:
Calamari, pork sliders with sweet potato fries, clam chowder, one of the pastas, charcuterie board and a salad.
Pros:
Lovely view of the golf course from the outdoors balcony Heaters on the Patio Friendly staff Yummy fig jam on charcuterie board
Cons: Charcuterie board didn't look very appetizing to me. Meats looked poor quality and dry, so did cheese. Others in the company said that it was alright, but nothing special.
Pork belly on pork sliders was just way too fatty. I had to pull the pieces and remove the fat before I could eat that. After removing fat they were good
Sweet potato fries were not crunchy, too soft and thin. The sauce that accompanied it did not go well with the fries. It was too sweet for the potato fries which are sweet too. The sauce has to balance that sweet taste.
Pasta with muscles was nothing special, kind of bland tasting....
In person food didn't look half as good as it looked on the photos.
This place is not my cup of tea, but the view of the golf course...
