The place was not un-similar to a dive bar, we called for a reservation and a young man answered the phone will lacking enthusiasm. The establishment was clean, but barren likely due to the memorial day festivities. My husband and I sat down for our first meal on our honeymoon and had a very nice waitress come over and introduce herself. After perusing the menu, we settled on our drinks and some appetizers. He opted for the loaded potato skins and I, for the fried squid. Tonight could best be expressed as not all dishes are created equal. His potato skins were a highlight of the appetizers. The bacon was well rendered but was not allowed to rest. All in all, they were enjoyable, but in need of a bit of seasoning. As for the calamari, ten dollars for a plate of pinky nail pieces and some greens is a stretch. The batter was not seasoned but the cook on them was fine. All in all, I'd recommend larger sized pieces or more of the calamari... And please, season your batter. Or, cut it entirely. Now, as I'm not one to rate beverages, I won't but I will absolutely be looking for that beer again... It was a maple coffee beer. Very pleasent.
On to the main course. He had the kc bbq half chicken. First, that sauce was phenomenal and it became pretty clear that chicken is in their skill set. Well cooked, well seasoned and all around delicious. His corn was not fresh, and I'd would be less than surprised if I was told It was frozen before hand. It was tough. Roasting corn brings out flavor, but only serves to toughen it when it's not fresh. The potatoes were an unseasoned after thought. The slaw, while it's no secret I'm not a fan of slaw, was decent. I'd definitely say above average.
Now for my final bit of critique. The shrimp jumbalaya. First, I will not be judging the shrimp itself.here. this place in nowhere near the ocean and getting it fresh is not going to happen. So we will move on from this. They dish was served.over cheese wedges rather than rice. An odd choice but not necessarily a bad one. The sauce while seasoned just missed the mark. The flavors were not balanced and the taste of celery was not present. That being said, it was good. I enjoyed it. Calling it jumbalaya is a stretch, rather a shrimp bean-less chili would be more appropriate. The garlic bread however, was a star. The cook made love to it. Well seasoned, the cheese only serving to compliment it. Well done
So I rate this restaurant 3 stars for: Nice staff Inconsistent food Overpriced But not unenjoyable and would return
Pros: chicken is phenomenal as is their garlic bread. Staff is pleasant and if the prices were lower, I could see this as a Friday destination for locals.
Cons: Prices Fear...

We will never go back. If you are hoping for a good meal with kids don’t bother.
The service was pretty awful. We had reservations for 6pm. We were seated promptly. Then it took over 10 min for anyone to even stop by to get drink orders. We finally placed our food orders around 6:30. By 7:00 when nothing arrived and the kids were getting ravenous and cranky, we said something. A sloppy plate of very greasy and overcooked calamari came out. We asked if they could just prioritize the kids food and they said they couldn’t. I implored them to bring anything out for them to eat and we did get a plate of French fries quickly. Then by 7:30 after asking multiple times our food finally came out.
Food was acceptable. Some things were better than others. Mac and cheese with pulled pork and the stir fry were very good, kids chicken bites were ok, grilled chicken added to the salad was dry, French fries that came with the burger were cold.
When we asked for an accommodation for the terrible wait, we were told it was a holiday weekend and then they added an automatic 20% gratuity. I personally didn’t want the waitstaff to pay for the kitchen’s error but I expected the management to make some sort of amends and it stuck in my throat that 20% was added automatically. We were 6 people, but split the bill.
Lots could have been done and...

Our dining experience there was absolutely amazing!
We started with the Pulled Pork Tacos as an appetizer. The soft tacos, filled with tender pulled pork, cheddar cheese, and fresh cilantro, were the perfect way to kick off our meal.
For the main courses, I went with the Grilled Beef Steak Tips. They were marinated in a delicious maple teriyaki glaze and served with grilled pineapple, brown rice, and sautéed broccolini with red peppers. It was a perfect blend of savory and sweet. My wife couldn’t stop raving about the Special of the Day, Rosa Shrimp Pasta. It had pan-seared shrimp, cherry tomatoes, and red peppers in a heavenly lemon butter and white wine garlic sauce over spinach and pasta. She was in heaven!
To finish, we treated ourselves to the Brownie à la Mode. The warm, gooey brownie paired with creamy vanilla ice cream was the perfect way to end our meal.
The cozy atmosphere, friendly service from our waitress, and the restaurant’s close proximity to our resort made this a truly memorable dining experience.
We highly recommend Martell’s at the Red Fox for anyone looking for great food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere in...
