EDIT 12 MAR 2019: That now have the imported draft beer. EDIT 5 MAR 2019: They are out of the imported draft beer and all they have is domestic. (EDIT) Wish they had a drink menu. If you love to drink, this bar will become very expensive for you. $3.99 for 12 oz beers. $6.00 alcohol shots for top shelf. $6.00 for 32 oz import draft beer, you might save a dollar for the other brands. No happy hour for alcohol as far as I know. Restuarant trying to make it in a small town with few customers is probably the reason for the price hike and no happy hour. (END OF BEGINNING EDIT) The fajita was okay. Not a five star rating type. The margarita tasted more of vodka than tequila. It tasted like bottom shelf stuff. I guess you may have to special request the top shelf stuff if you want a really good margarita. The spicy salsa was extra amazing. The place needs a outside overhaul, but the inside looks brand new! Overall, this place is the best Mexican restaurant that I know of in this area. If I find another...I will compare. Edit 6 FEB 2019. The fajita was the same color as the last time I was here. Maybe the lights? Not sure. The owner added a picture of a chicken fajita and I ordered it today. It does not look no where like the one she or he posted. Oh well. I did have a top shelf margarita. They add sugar to your margarita. It's a sugar syrup. Maybe request without that added sweetness? Get Milagro (They don't have Patron) as your top shelf tequila and everything will be great! You may wish to request extra sour cream as they are skippy on the sour cream. The spicy salsa is still the best thing! Go to the bar area to watch your drink being made. Added +1 star for excellent service! EDIT 9 FEB 2019: After being here multiple times a week, I've got to give this place +1 star for keeping me coming back for more! This will be a place I keep coming back to for the rest of this year! EDIT 16 FEB 2019 - The fajitas was wonderful! Best ever so far! Get the spicy salsa that makes your nose run,...
Read moreI visited Mama Rita's for the first time today for lunch. I had the Arroz Trio, which was pretty good. The shrimp were especially delicious. The chips and salsa were okay, but not my favorite. Chips are actually pretty good but it was the salsa that I wasn't too much of a fan on because it had a weird flavor to it sort of like tomatillo or whatever that seasoning is and I don't believe it was cilantro because I know what cilantro tastes like. However, they do give you a good amount of salsa which I like. The star of the show is the service here. My server who I believe her name was Summer did a great job and was very attentive. They also were pretty quick for lunch service which was pretty busy and I received my food within 10 minutes or so after ordering. The water is actually drinkable and not chlorine-filled like you may get elsewhere which was nice as well. I'm a water drinker naturally so when a restaurant has good drinking water that is positive for sure. I recommend this restaurant if you're in the mood for Mexican. Their lunch menu is pretty basic, but basic means faster food service times out of the kitchen. As for parking it appears the parking lot is full, but if you go around to the side of the restaurant and hang a right, there is an additional parking lot north of the restaurant. That's where I parked and it's easy to get in and out there as well. When I first pulled in I was worried that it was going to be super busy, but inside they still had plenty of...
Read moreIt was unpleasant last night . There two times it was so loud we couldn't even have a conversation at our table due to not being able to hear each other at our table.. 1st example a group of white ladies were loud for about a out the first thirty minutes we were there. 2nd example the whole rest of the time it was a black table full of girls, they were drinking shots and got louder and louder. They were getting drunk and two of the black girls were getting up from the table dancing and getting real loud like they were at night club. Everyone that was in the restaurant was getting upset because none of us could enjoy any of our time. My husband ended up walking out and not finishing his dinner due to all the noise. There is alot more to say but is the just of it. We have been there alot and that was one of the worst time ever and the time before this time their was about the same. We enjoy coming to restaurant , we drive from Cairo because we enjoy your food and everyone that works there always has a smile a great personality. We will be there again soon. Thank you for letting me tell you my experience the...
