While staying at an Airbnb nearby for a wedding, we chose this restaurant for dinner because of the good reviews. It's a nice location on the river next to the Blair covered bridge (make sure to drive over it with the windows down to hear the creaking, if you dare!). There was outside seating area (but not open when we were there in late October).
It was a Saturday night so we headed over on the early side around 5:30pm because they don't take reservations. There appeared to be a wedding party downstairs in what might be a function room.
We got on the waitlist but forgot to ask to be seated on the porch next to the river. When we saw how noisy the bar area was we asked if we could request the porch or wait until a table was available there, but they said once you're on the list you can only take the next available. Which happened to be in the main dining area facing the porch.
The atmosphere is very casual and family-friendly, but very noisy. So not the best choice for a quiet, romantic dinner. We only had to wait about 10-15 minutes to be seated; I would have waited longer to sit on the porch, but it probably would have been noisy anywhere in the restaurant.
I had a lot of questions about menu items and the waitress was very patient and helpful. I asked about a cocktail I had seen on the website that was not on the printed menu. She checked to see if they could make it but was told they could not.
But the food was delicious! And prices were reasonable. My husband enjoyed his old-fashioned drink, and my Frisk Riesling wine was excellent. There were a lot of unusual and ethnic choices on the menu. My husband loved the pasta fattoria, which was a large serving with lots of tender chicken. I devoured the seafood bake. We got dessert to take with us, and let me tell you: the salted caramel vanilla crunch cake was one of the best things I've ever tasted - and I'm not the biggest dessert fan in the world!
Overall a very good experience and...
Read moreI come to this incredible restaurant almost every Saturday with my boyfriend after our hikes (we are working on hiking all the 48 4 thousand footers). I cannot say enough or put into words how much Covered Bridge has come to mean to us and how remarkable the service is here.
I have become relatively well known at Covered Bridge because I always eat my cheat meals there and eat an exorbitant amount of food for someone my size. Because of this, the owner, Jen, struck up a conversation with me and we became very friendly with Jen and her incredible staff.
Covered Bridge is always super busy, yet the service is unbeatable and the team work/camraderie is like watching a ballet! We often get our food in 15 minutes or less and the food is delectable. It is literally farm to table food that tastes healthy, but flavorful and offers unique twists on classic comfort foods like mac and cheese, garlic bread, burgers, carrot cake, donuts, and more. The menu has unparalleled variety and never disappoints.
The servers are the hardest workers I have seen in my entire life and the best part about them is they are consistent; every time we go, we see the same friendly and warm faces and look forward to conversing with them at the bar. Stephanie or Alyssa are our usual waitresses and they are exceptionally talented. It has been wonderful comparing hiking notes with Alyssa.
This place deserves no less than a 100/100 rating; it is exceedingly rare to find a restaurant of this quality and going here makes our week-best reward after a hike EVER. We refuse to go anywhere else in NH. Our only complaint is it is not open every day!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the exceptional staff at Covered Bridge Farm Table and we look forward to seeing you again soon! I wish all of you the happiest new year of all time filled with relaxation, time off from the restaurant grind, and memories...
Read moreAug 6, 2023. Just came back up and stopped for our annual lunch when we come up to the White Mountains. We were seated outside for a beautiful, cool day right by the covered bridge. It was a much better meal than our visit last year. Our food was great!! Our waitress was great!! Very attentive and friendly!! Way more food than we could eat, even splitting…especially when you get “2” appetizers 🤣 We love the pickled red onion rings!! They were thicker cut this time. Like them better really thin!! Would love to have been able to check out the dessert menu…But way too full!! Thanks for a much better experience this year!!
July, 2022, We usually love this place and would absolutely give it five stars! We come up here from Charleston, SC because we love the White Mountains and this area around Lincoln and Woodstock. However, this experience was very disappointing! Our waitress was great, but the Rueben sandwich we ordered was awful!!! The bread was good but the meat was so tough and dried out you couldn’t eat it, even after cutting it with a knife and fork! We told the waitress and she said she would let the kitchen know. When the bill came the charge was still on it for the sandwich. When I asked her about it, she said she couldn’t take it off and would let the kitchen manager know. Still nothing, he out she never came out to apologize and they wouldn’t take the cost of the sandwich off. We gladly pay for quality food, but to have to pay for food you CAN’T eat is CRAZY!!! If this has been our first time here, we would NEVER...
