I really don't understand how our experience varied so differently from the other reviews that were posted but I wanted to share my thoughts based on our experience today -
We were traveling through and prefer to stop at local places and the reviews looked good.
There were two of us, we each ordered the daily special - one chicken & stuffing casserole and the other had the pork BBQ. Our sides were battered squash, sweet potato, mac & cheese. I got cornbread and he had a biscuit.
EVERYTHING tasted like it was frozen, canned, or boxed - that includes the cornbread and biscuit. and honestly my cornbread tasted like it was made yesterday and reheated in the microwave.
I ate the squash and one bite of everything else but just couldn't stomach it.
Sorry. I hate to be negative about a small, family owned business but we've had a long drive and hoped to break it up with a good meal. Maybe someone else in the same position and needs to know that they may want to hold off for another few miles...
Read moreOn the way home from a ballgame across the state, my son needed to find a restroom and it was after dark. We took the exit, saw a truck stop and a marathon. Both looked sketchy and I didnât have my husband with me. We saw this wonderful looking, local restaurant with open sign and I told him I was going to buy some drinks for the road and he could use their restroom. The ladies inside were super friendly and the place was just darlin. I canât wait to go back and try their home style food one day! I promised them the next time we were out that way, we would come in for a meal. You can tell the service would be great and from the lovely smells-the food must be top notch! Thanks for being patient with us as we didnât realize you were about to close until we walked out and saw the open sign flip off. Canât wait to try some chicken...

My husband had catfish and said it was light, not fishy tasting and the best heâs had in a long time! I had the Country ham breakfast and again WOW! Two eggs, homemade hashbrowns (yummy!) country ham and two biscuits with milk gravy! We will be returning for sure! Oh and I canât leave his post without giving a big âTHANK YOUâ to our waitress Jo! She was so sweet and pleasant and always smiling!!! Clean restaurant, great food, great prices and a wonderful waitress named Jo, who could ask for more!! Please check them out, you wonât be...
