I passed by this place everyday on my lunch for a week before I decided to go ahead and give it a try. Since then I've been there 3 times, and every trip has left me more impressed. I was a unaware of the Fish & Chips special going on during my first stop, so I tried out the Mushroom Swiss burger, with fries and a Turtle sundae. Everything about it exceeded my expectations. The fries here are perfectly cooked and just ever-so-satisfyingly greasy, without being unappetizing. My next choice was the Steak and Cheese special, and that too was exceptional. There was no special today when I called in, so I ordered the Double Cheeseburger. It was easily the best cheeseburger I've had in my life. And for $4.75, you can't complain about the portion; it's massive. Maybe once the summer really kicks into gear, I'll explore the frozen treats a little more. But you can't go wrong with the food here. This is the first review I've written. About anything. ever. So I'm not one to readily hand out undue credit, but this place is worthy of the hype. And if you're passing through Cannon Falls or along the 52, it's worth the small detour to make a stop. Mike, the owner, is the kind of guy who will remember your name and make you feel like a regular whenever...
Read moreMy boyfriend has been a loyal customer of Dairy Inn, often stopping by for lunch during his workdays, and we’ve both enjoyed supporting this business. Unfortunately, our view of this establishment has changed after a disappointing interaction with the owner today. This morning, my boyfriend was sitting at the outdoor seating area around 10am, using the time and space to do some work. When approached by the owner, he kindly explained that he is a regular customer and enjoys visiting. Despite this, she made him feel extremely uncomfortable, as though he was unwelcome. He was dressed professionally, in business attire, and was very respectful during the encounter, yet the exchange left him feeling pressured to leave. What was most upsetting was the lack of respect shown, not only toward him personally, but also toward his loyalty as a returning customer. This single interaction has changed our perspective entirely and has lost them our business. Growing up in a small town, we have always enjoyed going to different small businesses and enjoying the different community spaces, we will be finding different businesses that provide a welcoming...
Read moreThe flavors were good. It seemed reasonably priced compared to chain ice cream stores. We even joked that this place was the McDowells of ice cream. A couple issues we ran into was how quickly the ice cream became runny. My son was handed his ice cream cone and it was already running down his hand by the time he got to the nearby picnic tables next to the parking lot. It was upper 70s when we arrived. This in itself would not prompt me to write a review. It was the thin spoons that ended up affecting our trip. 3 of 5 ended up getting cuts to upper lips from the spoons. We noticed how sharp the spoons were while eating it but since ice cream numbs the mouth we had not noticed how damaging the spoons were. Afterwards it felt like dozens paper cuts in our mouth and a couple of us were mildly...
