Milton's Donuts (Carlisle, OH). I am not a big breakfast or donut person, but I found myself craving donuts early in the morning and thought I would give Milton's a try! I'll start with the good. The cream horns, are to die for! It's like biting into a cloud. It just flakes off into your mouth so perfectly, that you question if you even actually took a bite. The apple fritter. The perfect little crunch on the outside, and delicious apple and cinnamon on the inside. Their yeast donuts are huge! You can tell by the photos the clear size difference between the yeast and the cake. The cake donuts were also delicious! The fried sour cream donut was amazing! 😋 The not so good. Their glaze is a little heavy for my liking. I can't do the super sweet stuff, and this is a bit much for me. But that is completely personal preference. The fruity pebbles donut was a bit out of my wheelhouse, but I wanted to try it. Not good. The fruity pebbles are soggy, and somehow completely lost their taste. The glazed croissant was a bit of a letdown. It's one menu item that people rave about, and I thought it was just okay. Again, strictly personal preference. The really not so good. I like my cookies crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside. But these cookies are hardly baked at all. I'm not a fan. I also ordered one each of M&Ms, Reese's, triple chocolate and oatmeal raisin. I requested a refund if any of these weren't available, (DoorDash order). Instead, they gave me two Reese's, and something that looks like a blueberry white chocolate chip. One of my donuts was completely smashed. I ordered a glazed twist, and was given an original glazed ring. I requested on DoorDash for them to contact me if anything was unavailable. Of course, they did not. Finally, I was charged additional $5.25 extra for the $18.50 dozen. I contacted the restaurant directly, and the woman who answered the phone explained to me that it was because I chose three specialty donuts, and I could only get two. I advised her that that's not what the menu says, and I read the menu directly to her. She then said that she just checked the menu herself, and I was wrong. So she puts me on hold and I hear her in the background talking to someone else. When she comes back to the phone, she then tells me that it's because I got filled donuts and they are also considered specialty donuts. That is not what the menu says at all. Neither the DoorDash menu, nor their website menu. I suggested that they look into that if they can, and she got snappy with me and said she would let her manager know. She told me that they were unable to adjust the price, and, of course, DoorDash wouldn't fix it either. 🙄 My overall issue with this experience, is the poor customer service. Not calling me with changes to my order as I requested, and arguing with me over what the menu says, and then changing the story when they realized that I was right. I'm not writing this place off by any means, but I definitely won't be spending 40 bucks there again! 😬

Stopped in here for the first time after stopping at Crossroad Orchard for apple cider. Would definitely recommend both places. Employees were super friendly, told us what their favorites were. We picked a variety. There was a good selection left for being an hour from closing. The glazed ring donut was melt in your mouth delicious one hour prior to closing! The caramel iced cake donut was delicious, tasted fresh. We tried the cream cheese deep fried donut, it was ok, not overly sweet. The cinnamon sugared yeast donut was great! The cherry glazed ring donut was my FAV! The powdered sugar cake donut was moist and delicious. Didn't care for the buckeye, the peanut butter/sugar mixture was very stale, tossed that out. Still on the quest for the best candy buckeye in Ohio. The pumpkin cake donut tasted stale as well. The doors are not ADA compliant, but there is enough people to let someone in if they needed help.

The complement to this place what the most popular donuts are: plain glazed cake and yeast as a testimony to simple can be the best. Large staff and a simple shop with outstanding service. For the donut trail comparison of a glazed yeast donut this was one of the better. The dough was perfect but the glaze needs to be a bit sweeter.

Theyre out of everything by 9 am and the woman working the counter is the rudest human being I have ever dealt with in public. When I called to speak to the manager the girl that answered asked "Was it Nikki?" And a customer followed me out to give me his contact info for the owner to validate her behavior. He said shes rude all the time and considering the girl at the other location immediately knew who the problem was kind of makes me wonder why in the hell this behavior is permitted to continue. Absolutely ridiculous. Get your terrorist in...
