Tortugas Mexican grill — Restaurant in Carlisle

Chunky girls ventured to Carlisle today and took the moms out to eat. (Of course I couldn't check into anything in Carlisle) we were pleasantly surprised. Disclaimer: El Canaveral is my favorite Mexican restaurant so that's is where the bar is set. Chips were fresh and thin, salsa and guacamole was fresh and delicious. Fajita taco salad and regular taco salad for the moms, they said they were very tasty. Ro had Pollo fundido, she said was tasty as well. I had nacho supreme with special ordering. Everything came out in timely manner and just as ordered. The wait staff really friendly and prices were not unreasonable for Carlisle. Ro gives them 7.5 chunky girls and I also give a 7.5. So Tortuga's II gets a 7.5 chunky girls out of 10. So Carlisle do yourselves a favor and support...

I called to place an order for pickup and the phone was answered with a message to select 1 for pickup/delivery which was selected and then hung up. I received a text message to place my order online. I placed the order online which while waiting to pickup my food I noticed the prices were $3-$5 more when you order online PLUS they charged a few for using a debit card! The food (fajitas and fajita quesadilla) was bland.. not spicy at all. The cheese dip was runny and bland tasted like watered down melted cheese - more water than cheese! Chips were extremely thin and would break even with the thin/Emmy cheese dip! Will never eat...

We both ordered the "grilled chicken with onions and green peppers." We presumed that the vegetables would also be grilled, but we were mistaken. They were raw and lying on top of a bed of lettuce and grated white cheese. I like raw veggies but my Dad did not. The chicken was very flavorful, but was in very small pieces, not at all what I'm accustomed to. We were each given 3 flour tortillas, which were all very undercooked. Other than being hot there was no indication that they had been cooked at all. I really wanted to like this place. It takes a lot of guts to open a Mexican restaurant in such a small town. But...
