I wanted to like it. I brought my daughter here for lunch. We were able to find a seat shortly (it is seat yourself). It took about 10 minutes before anyone talked to us. Things seemed to go well at first. Our waitress checked in with us a couple of times in the beginning and it stopped after we ordered food. When we first arrived it was a little busy. After we placed our order, our service seemed to stop. We ordered a gyro with sweet potato fries and nachos with brisket. Despite business dying down to only a few customers, it took nearly an hour to get our food and it was noy even hot when it arrived. The gyro was barely warm and it was soggy. The gyro itself was not good for flavor and the sweet potato fries were mushy/soggy and lukewarm when I picked them up they bent and flopped. They were also wet. The dish itself was so gross that we decided to put it to the side to be thrown out. The nachos were very good however there was close to no brisket, maybe the equivalent of 3 bites sliced. I also ordered 1 seltzer. The portion of the nachos was very large. Our total came to $50 and it was NOT worth it. We were ignored by the staff the whole time. My cup was empty and nobody checked in on us at all. I eventually made eye contact with the bartender and she came over. I asked for the check and she saw the whole meal sitting on the table and asked us if we wanted a box. I explained our issues with the food and showed her the limp fries. She asked me if I wanted them to remake it, but I declined as we didn't want to wait another hour and have bad service. The bartender was very kind and apologetic which is why I gave the 2nd star for service where I would have put a single star with the overall experience we had. We will not...
Read moreWe chose this place because of the good reviews. We were pretty disappointed. We walked in and the first thing we noticed is the air units/conditioning were dripping everywhere, including on tables. The staff didn't try to be helpful to find us a place less... drippy, but once I looked around I guess there wasn't really one. I immediately asked one of the servers what was in their seafood soup, she had to ask another server who also didn't know, who asked the cook who said "I think pollock.". So he didn't really know either, and she came to is and said "it should be pollock'. So we ordered wings and a gyro, I was satisfied with the gyro, but the wings were ridiculously greasy. There was a puddle under the wings. They have an open kitchen, while our food was being cooked we watch the cook put something in his mouth several times. At one point he opened the fridge, grabbed something and put it in his mouth, then started working on something else with out washing his hands. So that's pretty disgusting. Our kid started getting fussy about sitting and waiting (which wasn't long, actually), and she wasn't 30 seconds in to her grumping when the cook yelled at one of the servers to get her some crackers, which we were already working on. So overall, the service wasn't that bad but they need to be more knowledgeable of food. I have waited tables for a long time and my husband has cooked for 15 years, I've never worked somewhere where it was acceptable to pretty much say "I don't know what's in this food.". If you want to have an open kitchen, your staff should be trained to be professional and courteous, not touching their mouth and then customer's food and being ornery about children in the...
Read moreI see all the positive reviews and realize I must have just been there on a bad night but still felt it was important to share. I went on Wednesday June 21st and had some of the worst service ever. The server's grandkids were seated at the table behind me and she spent more time visiting with them then ever coming to my table. After I got my menu it took at least 15 minutes for her to come back and take my order. Keep in mind the restaurant was about 50% empty so it definitely wasn't busy. I ordered a cocktail, the walleye wild rice burger, and fries. 20 minutes go by and I watch her visit her grandkids(walking by me each time) at least 4 times, clear tables, get herself something to drink, etc. and I never end up getting the drink I ordered. Food came out and the walleye wild rice burger was flavorless and the fries tasted like fried fish foods(warning for anyone who might have a seafood allergy as they must use the same fryer). I finally am able to get my check and the server again is too busy with her grandkids to grab my card and ring me up so I can finally leave. She even takes one behind the bar with her while the other goes with dad to the bathroom. All while passing my card sitting at the edge of my table another half dozen times. My water had also sat empty most of this time and was never refilled once. I travel alone a lot, I've put in 7,500 miles in the last 6 weeks and eaten out most of the meals and this was unfortunately the worst service I have gotten everywhere...
