Third Base Bar ___________________________________ Carlton, Minnesota USA @google 4.3/5.0 ⭐️ Reviewed as a casual hangout bar and grill with live music, epic events, bar games, pub food and cold drinks. Third Base Bar can be summed up as your perfect small town meet up spot, and it shows as it’s a local favorite. Inside you’ll find two pool tables, two electronic Bull Shooter darts machines, and under the counter they have a ton of pull tabs! They even serve free popcorn while you sit at the bar (with toppings if you’d like). Weekends can get pretty crowded when they host bands so make sure to show up early if looking for a table. The best event they hold is Carlton Daze where they have an outdoor tent with a stage and live music Friday and Saturday nights. The highlight of this event is they serve a minnow shot. Enjoy a shot with a live minnow in it if you’re looking for a little adventure while drinking. The grill menu has plenty of options like fried appetizers- try the jalepeno poppers, cheese curds, and chicken wings! The appetizers and sandwiches are really delicious and you’ll especially enjoy the Buffalo chicken pizza, mean burger, Mount Everest burger. Drinks are especially cheap and happy hour is every day from 3-6 with $1 off drinks! Make sure to get a Bloody Mary. It’s well worth it. Whether you’re looking to watch a game, eat some food, play a game of pool/darts, or grab a few good drinks with friends, or all the above, Third Base Bar has it. Check them out- just a short drive from Duluth! @thirdbasebarcarlton Suggested by: @__.nolan.__ Remember to hit the link in my bio to submit your favorite bar to be posted! #Drinking #beer #bar #Minnesota #USA

This appears to be a favorite with locals. If you are looking for a fancy place, or one with lots of windows and interesting decor, you'll have to go elsewhere. It is a large bar and grill wth plenty of seating inside, out back in a patio atmosphere, or next to the parking lot on some picnic tables ( you could probably eat at these tables if you have a dog with you). Inside they have two pool tables, two electronic dart machines, and a special counter where it appeared they were selling some kind of pull-tab type gambling tickets. There are numerous large screen tv's showing sports. Popcorn was free and tasty, and they have four or five kinds of flavored toppings you can sprinkle on it if you desire ( kettle corn, caramel, cheese jalapeno, etc). We were there twice, for a late lunch at 1:15 on a Tuesday, and again at 5:30 on a Wednesday. Tuesday there were only about five patrons, but Wednesday there were about 25, and the single bartender was kept busy. The cook brings your food out when it is ready. Bartender and cook were very friendly. On Tuesday, at the bartender's suggestion, I had the Mean burger. I liked it so much I had it again on our second visit. It is about a 1/3 lb hamburger with three slices of bacon, pepper jack cheese, grilled onions and jalapenos, and with A-1 steak sauce on it. Very tasty, and supposedly one of the favorites of patrons. It was served with your choice of tarot tots, crinkle cut fries, or seasoned waffle fries. Again at the bartenders suggestion, we tried the seasoned waffle fries-- they were excellent. $7.50. Upon recommendation of the bartender my wife had the Ultimate panini. It was turkey, ham, hard salami, cheese, and yellow banana peppers. It was large and tasty. Again, served with your choice of the three types of potato. $8.00. On the second visit my wife tried the Ray's Blue Cheese and olive burger, which had a generous portion of chunky, blue cheese dressing, and green olives. It was also tasty, and about $7.50 or $8.00. They have a wide variety of burgers, paninis, burgers, and wraps. The cheapest burger and fries was $6.00. Happy hour is 3 to 6 pm and got us $1.00 off each of my wife's draft beers. Our total bill with two beers, a fountain Pepsi (free refills), and the two burger baskets with the seasoned fries, was about $19.00. We were camping at the nearby Jay Cooke State Park, but if I lived in the area this would probably become my hangout.

Don't go to this bar, I have been here numerous times when assaults have happened two of them being my friend and one being a death. Absolutely nothing was done about it. These owners only care about themselves and money with that being said be safe y'all. Nobody deserves to be treated like this.

Stopped in here for some food during hunting season. The food was absolutely aweful. The cheese curds were still cold in the middle, the fries were saltier than the great salt flats, the mushroom Swiss burger was luke warm at best and tasted like cardboard, the meatball sub I wouldn't feed to my dog. Definitely do not recommend eating here. The dark beer was...
