Corned Beef Factory — Restaurant in Carol Stream

This place was just... different. The guy at the counter was listless and didn't seem like he wanted to be there. He was aware of my presence at the counter, but he was looking at his phone and didn't acknowledge me until it was convenient. Not surly, but disengaged. But he took my order and then prepared it promptly, so in spite of his less than engaging personality, the service was actually okay. The food was decent, but I've definitely had better corned beef sandwiches. This corned beef was salty, but not particularly flavorful. I almost didn't eat the second half.

What I really disliked was the gaming. This isn't a couple of slot machines tucked in a corner. No, these are Vegas-style machines which take up easily half of the space. If that's what you're into, it looks fairly nice.

I guess one positive aspect of having the gaming in there is that like many casinos, alcohol is cheap. The beer is very reasonably priced whether you're playing a game of chance or eating a...

The corned beef factory on County farm road in West Chicago or Carol stream is not good currently.

My Grill cheese was just a lightly grilled rye bread with some cheese.

My Reuben.... sauerkraut had no taste and was barely present. I paid for extra sauce and got no sauce.

The chips may as well be soggy potatoes, cause they are on the verge of not being crisp, and they must make them in house and deep fry in some strange oil. Not good.

I will say it is a good portion of meat, the workers are friendly as well, but should listen to rap music in a place that mostly caters to elderly, with full lyrics.

The soda .machine was down, but after waiting ten minutes they fixed it. Is brand new store.

For 24 dollars for a grilled cheese and a Reuben, these worked best be able to make a top notch sandwich, not one my kid could make in my own kitchen .

Lastly the packaging is nice.

I drive for a living so we eat out constantly, I feel that this review is well deserved. I am definitely a corned beef aficionado. Upon entering the building I was a little disappointed that it was also a gambling den, but hey, welcome to Northeast Illinois. Mary, behind the counter was extremely friendly and made our sandwiches right in front of our eyes. And when I say this corned beef sandwich was good. I mean it was FKN excellent. If I was up that way more often I would definitely eat there more often and I mean easily three times a week. Can't wait to go back up there!. PS I recommend having your sandwich put on the panini grill, I think that would have made it perfect!

Just my opinion, I think the potato chips sucked would have been nice to have a secondary choice of a side. Potato salad or coleslaw something like that?.

Or maybe even some of those boiled little butter potatoes?, that would have...
